COLD OR FLU? HOW TO SPOT THE DIFFERENCE!
The common cold and seasonal flu can feel similar, but knowing the difference is key to getting the right care. Here's how to tell them apart:
COMMON COLD:
Gradual onset of symptoms
Nasal congestion, sneezing, and runny nose
Cough, mild headache, and minor body aches
Symptoms last about a week
Over-the-counter medications usually help
SEASONAL FLU:
Sudden and more severe symptoms
High-grade fever, headache, body aches, and fatigue
Dry cough, sore throat, and stuffy or runny nose
Symptoms improve in 2–5 days but can last longer
Prescription anti-viral drugs can reduce severity and duration
Seek medical advice if symptoms worsen or if you’re at higher risk (e.g., asthma, diabetes, pregnancy).
