To help protect our patients, staff, and visitors, UR Medicine hospitals have strengthened masking guidelines effective today. Masks are now required for all staff, providers, students, volunteers, and contract workers in any area where patients may be present, including clinical areas, nursing stations, lobbies, cafés, and waiting rooms. We also strongly encourage visitors to wear masks while in the hospital.

This comes as flu activity is higher than other respiratory illnesses this season.

You can help keep our community healthy by:
• Getting your flu shot if you haven’t already
• Staying home and isolating if you develop respiratory symptoms
• Seeking care appropriately — contact your primary care provider, visit Urgent Care, or use virtual urgent care for non-emergencies
