Obituary
Diane Phillips

Diane Lee Phillips passed away on 12/1/25 after struggling for many years due to multiple chronic medical conditions. Diane was born on 2/24/1950 to Eugene and Leora Hunt. She was the oldest of 4 children. She graduated from Hornell High School in 1968 and attended Fredonia College. Diane spent many years in various roles in the retail field before becoming a real estate agent.

Diane relocated to Florida in 1977, where she lived until returning to New York to be with family in 2011. She lived with her mother, Leora, in Hornell for the past several years. During that time Leora and Diane provided each other with much support and companionship.

Diane loved life in Florida and spent much of her spare time walking the beaches. She loved to go out dancing. Diane had many hobbies, including shell collecting, knitting, reading, painting ceramic houses and shopping for clothes. She enjoyed rooting for the Miami Dolphins and loved everything Disney. Friends and family received one of her beautifully hand knitted blankets for the birth of each baby. Many friends and family have also been the recipient of her expertly painted ceramic houses. Diane loved animals, and was particularly devoted to her cats. She greatly admired fancy cars.

Diane is survived by her mother, Leora Hunt, her sons Russ Conjerti (Jennifer) and Christopher Conjerti, her brother Bill, her sister and brother-in-law, Debbie and Pat Norton and two grandchildren, Anna Conjerti and Angelo Conjerti. She is also survived by her nieces, Katie Twigg (Dana) and Jennifer Hunt (Victor) and their children. She was predeceased by her father Eugene Hunt, brother Brian and nephews Wiliam Hunt and Merritt Norton. Diane will be greatly missed by her extremely compassionate friend, Teasha Stiles, who took excellent care of Diane for the past few years. She will also be missed by her good friend Rose Hunt.

A private family ceremony will take place in the coming months. Donations in Diane’s memory can be made to an animal shelter of your choice.

Burr, Mary Louise Wolcott “Mikie”
Tuesday, November 18, 2025, Mary Louise “Mikie” Burr passed peacefully, with her loving and devoted husband, Donald (Don) Burr. Mikie was treasured by her family and lifelong friends. Although she faced serious health challenges later in life, was incredibly brave, strong, positive, and lived with grace.
Mikie is survived by her husband Donald Burr; her children, Tim Hayes of Vermont, Lori Hayes of New York, and Lisa Hayes of Pennsylvania, Jeffrey (Kimberly) Burr and Amanda McCumiskey of New York; her beloved grandchildren Rachel and Sophie Hayes, Amanda Burr, Mark, Alexandra, and Sam McCumiskey; great-grand children Lucy, Oliver, and Alice Hadsell, and Quinton and Mallory McCumiskey; and many nieces and nephews who loved her as Aunt Mike. Mikie was predeceased by her daughter Mary Kay Hayes (Kristin Vanden Brul) of New York, and sister Bette Anne "P***y" (Arthur) Hayes, also from Angelica, NY.
Mikie was born in the Stone House on Main Street in Angelica, NY, next door to the fire station, on September 29, 1939. She was the daughter of the late Kenneth Wolcott and Mildred Sierk Wolcott who operated the Wolcott Funeral Home from that residence. She grew up in the funeral home, sharing responsibly of answering the fire phone located in their residence with her sister, P***y. As young girls they answered the town's 24/7 emergency phone number, triggered the fire whistle, and directed responders to the fire, or her father's hearse (the village ambulance) to the scene. Mikie graduated at age 16 from Angelica Central School, and was devoted to her beloved 'Class of 1956'. After raising her family, Mikie returned to college to further her education. Her classmates, friends, and family appreciated her beautiful smile, warmth, intelligence, and capacity for remembering facts and phone numbers.
Mikie and Don were married in 1974, and later moved from Belfast, NY to their home in Wellsville, NY, where they hosted many special gatherings with their children, grandchildren, and close family, friends, and neighbors over the years. She was a special Mom to a special needs child of her own, while she also shared herself with the Allegany ARC. Her love was boundless. She and Don enjoyed traveling throughout their marriage, making special memories from roadtrips to beaches to cross country adventures to National Parks, playing golf, swimming in their pool, soaking up every ray of sun, and summers at Rushford Lake. Mikie loved her kitties and visits from her ‘grandpuppies’.
Mikie was an accomplished and respected Human Resources executive. She retired in 2016 from her consulting role with Allegany ARC, where she previously served as Chief Operating Officer and Vice President of Human Resources (1994-2011). Prior to Allegany ARC, she served as Director of Human Resources at Friendship Dairies (1981-1994), served as Staff Accountant at Motorola (1973-1981) and began her career straight from high school at age sixteen at the New York Telephone Company (1956-1964). Mikie was a trusted friend and mentor, offering valuable perspectives that captured the hearts and minds of family, friends, and colleagues. She was kind to every person she met and found the good in every situation, guiding others to do the same.
The family wishes to thank everyone who cared for Mikie, and provided her love, support, companionship, and encouragement. A celebration of Mikie’s life will be held at a future date at the convenience of the family. Interment will be at Until the Day Dawn Cemetery in Angelica, NY. Mikie wished any contributions in her memory be made to the Allegany ARC or the Hart House, both in Wellsville, NY.

• Nathaniel Charles Libertone was born 6/13/1991 in Hornell, NY. His life started
and ended in NY. He attended Canaseraga Central School for the entirety of his
education, where he went on to study Mechanical Technology at UTI.
While there was always a love for NY, NC was were he truly began to LIVE. He
moved down circa 2013 and met his wife, Brittany Lynne, in 2014.
Anyone who knew Nate knows he is stubborn. He pursued his wife almost
criminally. He obtained her phone number from a work contract and texted her
from that. One of her first text to him was telling him “I’m pretty sure that’s
against the law”
Nate accepted Jesus right before their wedding, simply months into their
relationship. They started dating April 2015 and got married October 10,2015.
Nate loved BIG. And there was nothing that superseded his love for his WIFE. But
his children were quite easily the reason he breathed. The reason he got up, he
went to work, and most importantly the reason he pursued Jesus.
It seems fitting that he would pass back home in NY. He got to do all the things
he loved before he left his earth home. Trout fish, hunt, golf. He loved the
outdoors. He loved being able to spend time with his friends, and the
accessibility to do things with his extended family.
While Nate’s body left us on Sunday November 16th, 2025, It is now that he is
truly living. No longer in chronic Pain, no longer struggling. His last breaths
are both a reason to cry, and a reason to rejoice. As believers, we aren’t meant
for THIS world, and this world was a constant struggle, he has such a kind
heart.
He leaves behind a lot of people. His wife of 10 years and the mother of 3 of
his 4 children, Brittany. His children, Nathaniel Charles Libertone Jr (14),
Olivia Rey Libertone (9), Memphis Ernest Libertone (7), and his Yani Boy, Yanis
Michael Libertone (3).
Brittany was a Stay At Home Mom who Homeschooled their children (Olivia, Memphis
and Yanis) the entirety of her motherhood. These sweet babies are left to a
cruel world to navigate alone with her (and Jr with his momma Grace Stafford)
Nate is survived by a beautiful family he created and CHOSE daily. Brittany
Libertone, and their children, Olivia, Memphis and Yanis, Grace Stafford and
their Son, Nathaniel Charles Libertone Jr. His Best Friends, Anthony Rocci, Nick
Edwards and Stephanie Miller. His parents, Paulita Parker and her husband Karl
Parker, and Mark Libertone and his wife Tammy Libertone, as well as a paternal
grandmother, Mary Libertone, maternal grandfather, Chuck Morris and many aunts
and uncles, including Luke Morris who relentlessly attempted CPR upon finding
Nathaniel in the Woods, also surviving are his sister Noel Routly and his best friend Scott Kinney.
A Celebration of Life will be held on December 6, 2025 at 1:00pm at the Canaseraga American Legion.
There is a Go Fund Me set up for his wife and children https://gofund.me/84a13cd64

Daniel “Dan” Lyon, affectionately known as “Hound Dog,” was born on June 30, 1954, in Cuba, New York, to Daniel and Lillian Lyon, and passed away on November 13, 2025, after a courageous year-long battle with cancer. The oldest of seven children, Dan grew up on the family farm on Peavy Road, where his childhood was filled with fishing and swimming in the creek, exploring the clay bank, and riding ponies. These early joys fostered his lifelong love of the outdoors, hands-on projects, and simply being around others.

Known for his exceptional craftsmanship, generosity, and quiet reliability, Dan retired after 44 years of dedicated service.
Warm, approachable, and quick with a smile, Dan had a gift for making others feel welcome and at ease. He loved spending time with his friends and enjoyed playing Euchre, nurturing both friendly competition and camaraderie. He was also a tremendous gardener, tending his plants with patience and pride and joyfully sharing the harvest with loved ones. He enjoyed photography and bird-watching and loved spotting simple, everyday moments worth remembering.
