Christmas came a little early this year! Thanks to all who attended and supported our Family Camp last week.

In addition to a visit from Santa, our children and families participated in the Phoenix Center ropes course, art activities and outdoor play. We had lunch, goodies, and volunteers from a number of organizations and individuals, including and .

Phoenix Center is so excited to share that we received our first equine therapy horse last night at our Equine Therapy Barn!

Please meet Finney, (the First,) our 8-year-old Mustang.

Free of charge

Is your child or teen struggling at home or in school? Are you concerned about their mental well being?

Come see us today at the Walk-In Clinic. A limited number of appointments are available. Check in begins at 2:30pm. Please arrive at our office no later than 4:00pm to allow time for your session. For more information call 830.637.7848

Parents or guardians can meet with a licensed counselor - with or without their child - to consult about concerns, seek advice, and explore solutions. Family members can be seen for a single session or return multiple times. Services are available free of cost in English or Spanish.

Today we are honored to shed light on an integral member of our equine team. We would be so lost without you Heather.

A message from Heather:
"I've been around horses since I was five and they have been phenomenal teachers for me.

My interest in why "people" do what they do, started with trying to figure out how to communicate with horses, and then spread to humans. When I learned that horses could play a huge part in making people's lives better it was something that I had to do.

Giving the gift of growth and change to kids means they can carry that change into the rest of their lives, and the lives of all the people they will touch."

Books are one of our favorite ways to engage with our children and their families. Kellyn, one of our Children's Therapists, enjoys utilizing "Cry, Heart, But Never Break" to explore themes of grief and loss.

When Death visits four siblings, he shares a tale that shows how sorrow and joy, grief and love, are forever intertwined. It’s a comforting reminder that while loss brings tears, love helps the heart stay open and whole.
