While the hospital has closed, our mission continues. The Levi Community Foundation will carry forward our commitment to behavioral health and the well-being of this community.

Libby Harrington, Marketing Director at Levi, stopped by to deliver shoe covers to Jerry Jones, Construction Supervisor for Garland County Habitat for Humanity. These covers will help keep the floors clean as crews wrap up work and welcome the community into the finished home. Proud to support our neighbors in building something special! 🏠

Simple, but wise words from Dr. John M Downes.

"Plant a tomato."

Depression and isolation allow for negative and spiraling thoughts to wreak havoc on your mental health.

"I tell them something that sounds stupid, but I say, 'Get out of the chair in that back room and go out in the backyard and plant a tomato.' ... You've been living in a fiction, telling yourself stories," he said.

"You need to go in the backyard and plant a tomato. And you know what? That tomato is real, and that dirt is real, and that water is real, and the sun is real. Finally, for the first time in six weeks, you've been connected to reality."

In recognition of Mental Health Awareness Month, Dr. John Downes discussed the importance of a two-pronged approach to treating mental health while speaking to the Hot Springs National Park Rotary Club earlier this month.

🌟 When patients leave Levi Hospital, Kevin ensures they don’t leave without the support they need. As our Discharge Planner, his role goes beyond scheduling follow-up appointments—he connects patients with local resources to help them navigate their next steps toward recovery.

Fun fact: Kevin is also a licensed Crematory Operator and Funeral Director, showcasing his dedication to caring for people at all stages of life.
