Happy National Stuffing Day! 🍽️✨

Celebrate one of the coziest food holidays of the year with this simple, flavorful, and budget-friendly Easy Stuffing recipe. Whether you're prepping for Thanksgiving or just love a warm, savory side dish, this classic version comes together with everyday ingredients and fills the kitchen with all the best fall aromas.

🍞 Ingredients

1 tablespoon canola or olive oil
½ white or yellow onion, diced
1 celery stalk, diced
½ large carrot, diced
1 clove garlic, minced (or ½ teaspoon jarred)
1 egg, lightly beaten
1.5 cups low-sodium poultry or vegetable broth (or water)
5–6 cups whole-grain or sourdough bread*, cubed and dried overnight or in the oven
2 tablespoons unsalted butter
Salt and pepper to taste
Herbs (fresh or dried): rosemary, parsley, chives, oregano

🍁 Directions

Preheat oven to 400°F.
Heat oil in a sauté pan over medium heat.
Add onion, celery, carrot, and garlic. Cook, stirring often, until lightly browned.
Transfer vegetables to a mixing bowl. Add broth and beaten egg; mix well.
Add dried bread cubes and seasonings. Mixture should be moist but not soupy—add more broth if needed. (Optional: add drippings from a roasted turkey.)
Butter a 9×9-inch baking dish with half the butter. Spread in the stuffing and top with remaining butter.
Bake 30–45 minutes, until golden and crisp on the edges. Internal temp should reach 145°F.

Warm, simple, and perfect for holiday tables—give it a try today! 🍁🥄

Allow enough time to thaw your Thanksgiving turkey!

The USDA recommends 24 hours for every 4-5 pounds of bird in the refrigerator.

Why not thaw at room temperature? Unfortunately, when we thaw food at room temperature, the outer portion of the food spends too much time in the temperature danger zone of 40 to 140 degrees Fahrenheit. In this temperature range, we can expect bacterial growth and potentially, toxin production.
