Start Corporation Start Corporation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization founded in 1984. We are proud to serve communities throughout Louisiana.

Our Mission is to promote opportunities, which enhance the self-sufficiency of people to empower them to live and function independently. We offer Primary Care, Behavioral Health, Community Based Services, Veterans Services, Crisis Care and Homeless Outreach/Coordinated Entry throughout the state of Louisiana. Currently, we operate five Federally Qualified Health Centers and are excited to add two more this year. Start Corporation received 3 Year CARF Accreditation for Case Management/Services Coordination, Community Housing, and Community Integration. We’re Hiring! 📣🌟 Start Corp is looking for a dedicated Case Manager/Case Coordinator to join our Healthy Start team!

This role supports women, infants, and fathers by coordinating care, improving communication between providers and clients, and helping ensure families receive the services they need. You will also manage patient workflow to support efficient, effective care.

St. Charles Parish

Our main office is located in Houma. Applicants must be willing to visit 1–2 times a month and meet each week virtually.

Exciting news! Start Corp is introducing START with HEART, a new 8-week program that supports couples in building communication skills, navigating challenges, and creating a stronger foundation together. 🧡🫂

Through guided, interactive sessions, couples learn practical tools they can use every day to strengthen their connection and grow as a team.

✨ Carry Hope & Spread Warmth Community Drive – Results Are In! ✨

Our community showed incredible generosity this season. With drop-off boxes at Start Corp locations in Houma and Thibodaux, we collected a huge amount of warm essentials for our unhoused neighbors.

🧡 Total Donations:
- 103 blankets
- 84 jackets and coats
- 9 school bags

Plus winter clothing, scarves, hats, socks, shoes, toiletries, and a case of water bottles. We even received thoughtful handwritten notes from Bourg Elementary students.

Thank you to everyone who donated. Your kindness helps us continue supporting those who need it most. A special thank you to the teacher and students at Bourg Elementary School for spreading extra love and encouragement. 💙

All items have been delivered to The Firm Foundation’s Homeless Day Center in Houma, and our Homeless Outreach Team will continue distributing items directly to community members.

Many Louisiana families qualify for free or low-cost health coverage but aren’t enrolled yet.

Start Corp’s new Connecting Kids to Coverage (CKC) program is here to change that. The CKC program helps children, parents, and pregnant women access affordable health insurance through Medicaid and CHIP.

CKC provides support with:
✨ Understanding coverage options
✨ Identifying who may be eligible
✨ Helping families apply, renew, and keep their coverage

Start Corporation, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, was founded in 1984. Start Corporation strongly believes in recovery, quality of life, respect, and personal choice for our clients and for everyone.

Start Corporation has successfully established numerous programs to provide supportive housing, case management, social skills training, residential services, a clubhouse, and a Peer to Peer program for persons with low incomes and/or behavioral, physical, or developmental challenges and disabilities.

Start Corporation received 3 Year CARF Accreditation for Case Management/Services Coordination, Community Housing, and Community Integration. Start Community Health Center received level 3 accreditation for Patient Centered Medical Home in September of 2017.
