Time for the ultimate Halloween challenge: Crow Pose! 🐦‍⬛
Pose: Crow Pose (Bakasana)
It looks impossible and often comes with the fear of falling on your face. That's why we have a prop hack that eliminates the fear so you can build strength safely! Arm balances are accessible with the right foundation!
Conquering the Fear
The Safety Net: Place a bolster or a stack of blankets directly in front of your hands where your forehead would land. Fear gone! You now have a safe place to land.
Hand Placement: Plant your hands shoulder-width apart, fingers spread wide.
Knee Placement: Find a deep squat. Prop your knees high onto the backs of your upper arms (triceps), creating a secure shelf.
The Lean: Look forward (at the wall, not your hands!). Slowly, slowly shift your weight forward. Keep leaning until you feel light on your toes.
Lift Off: Practice lifting one foot up and tapping your bottom, then putting it down. Then try the other foot. You don't need to lift both feet immediately to feel successful—that little lean forward is the pose!
Come fly with us this week and build your confidence!

Week 2 of tackling the poses that look easy but feel spooky!
Embracing the "Resting Corpse" 😴
Pose: Corpse Pose (Savasana)
This pose has the spookiest name of all, but it is actually the most restorative and important pose in your practice! If you struggle to relax, you're not alone.
Let's make your final rest accessible and blissful.
Stop the Stress: If lying flat on your back causes lower back pain, your Savasana isn't working for you! That's not restful.
Prop Power: Grab a couple of blocks or a bolster and slide directly under your knees. This simple change relieves tension in the low back and pelvis, letting your body sink deeper into the mat.
Get Grounded: Place a blanket over your body for warmth, or cover your eyes with a shirt/eyepillow/cold lavender towel 😏 The gentle weight is incredibly calming for the nervous system.
The Mental Trick: You're not "doing nothing"; you're integrating all the hard work from class. If your mind races, simply notice the thought (like seeing a cloud drift by), and gently bring your attention back to the feel of your breath going in and out.
Give yourself permission to fully rest and recharge. 🧛

October is here, and we're tackling the poses that look easy but feel spooky! 👻
This week, it's Chair Pose (Utkatasana). Don't let the name scare you—we believe your yoga should be accessible, not intimidating! 🧘‍♀️
We're here to build strength from the ground up.

The Not-So-Scary Chair
The Setup: Stand with your feet hip-width apart. Shift your weight back into your heels.
The "Short Sit": On an exhale, bend your knees and sit your hips back as if you're looking for an invisible chair. Stop before it gets spooky! Only go as deep as you can hold comfortably while keeping your chest lifted.
Wall Support (Hack!): If you're new to this, stand with your back against a wall and slide down. Let the wall support your spine so you can focus only on the burn in your thighs. No balance fear here!
Hands Off: Don't stress the arms overhead yet. Try placing your hands on your hips or bringing them to prayer at your chest. This keeps the focus on building foundational leg strength.
Challenge yourself to hold for just 5 breaths!
