… less water just makes your bladder more sensitive when it’s full. When it doesn’t know how to handle the volume; you end up worried about where the closest bathroom is, increased urge and maybe even some leaking. Sips throughout the day keep everything running smoothly and your bladder and pelvic floor happy.

Change doesn’t come from comfort.
It comes from repetition when you don’t feel like it.
From showing up when it’s not exciting.
From doing the thing- even when your body and brain want to default to easy.

Real results aren’t built in bursts of motivation.
They’re built in boring, consistent, intentional work.

Discipline is just choosing the harder option long enough for it to become your new normal.

And that’s the part people miss
it takes time.
It takes effort.
It takes uncomfortable reps that don’t feel different yet… until one day they do.

You don’t change your body by avoiding challenge.
You change it by staying in it long enough for adaptation to happen.

Modify the habit.
Stay consistent.
Get comfortable being uncomfortable.

That’s where lasting change lives.

We need to stop acting like pregnancy = fragile.

Because it doesn’t.

Most of the “don’t do this” advice?
It’s not based on your body, your symptoms, or your training history.

It’s based on fear.

And fear is not a good clinical decision-maker.

Exercise during pregnancy is supported by research.
It’s safe. It’s beneficial. And for many women, it actually reduces symptoms.

So next time you’re unsure of what is safe during pregnancy regarding exercise, ask your pelvic PT not your great aunt who was given the fear advice.

Are you someone who struggles to find length in your glutes or hit depth in your squat?

…so you throw on lifters or elevate your heels and you’re below parallel.

Heels elevated doesn’t fix your squat. It just gives you access to a range of motion your body doesn’t fully trust yet.

And that’s not a bad thing - wedges are a tool not a crutch.

Elevating your heels can:
✔️ Help you access deeper hip flexion
✔️ Keep your torso more upright
✔️ Let you actually feel your glutes load in the bottom

But if you stay here forever and never build control without it…
you’re just avoiding the real problem.

Your body isn’t tight.
It’s protective.

So use the plates. Use the lifters.
Get the depth. Build the strength.

Then start earning it back on flat ground.

That’s how you actually change your squat.

If you’re pushing, straining, or holding your breath, that’s just downward pressure, not control.

Your core and pelvic floor should lift, support, and respond to load…
not just brace like you’re trying to 💩during every squat.

Engagement is coordinated.
Breath + core + pelvic floor working together.
Not clenching your peach. Not pushing. Not white-knuckling your way through a lift.

Ever try to draw belly button to spine and wonder why your lower belly pushes out? … that’s mismanaged pressure!

Strength training is one of the most powerful tools you have in this phase of life.

Lifting helps:
• maintain muscle
• support bone density
• regulate blood sugar
• improve metabolism
• protect your joints
• support your pelvic floor
• keep you feeling like YOU

You don’t need endless cardio.
You don’t need to train harder.
You need to train smarter and keep loading your body.
For you & so you don’t have to ask for help 😉

The best feeling is when a patient reaches the wellness phase but keeps coming in because they know how much better they move, train, and live when they stay on top of things.
This athlete and I have worked through a lot of seasons of life together. Today it was shoulder pain — so we addressed it early with needling, manual therapy, and progressive loading.
Proactive care keeps athletes doing what they love.
