👩🏼‍🍼I have officially started my maternity leave to soak up a little time before baby gets here and hopefully assist in a smooth transition into motherhood.

I am excited to use this time to make sure I feel as prepared as possible and keep my body feeling strong - lots of driving and being in less than desirable positions during my sessions was really taking a toll on my body that I hadn’t fully realized or anticipated.

During my maternity leave I plan to return calls, emails, and messages as I am able and up to it, but will not be putting pressure on myself to do this in a certain timeframe - particularly in the first few weeks following his arrival. I appreciate your understanding and support during this time and look forward to connecting!!

📱Dipping my toes back into the AAC world - with a lot of support from and her consult services!! Thanks to her I’m learning to navigate TD Snap, while supporting my client - jury is still out on how I personally feel about using this app though. (LAMP fan for life 🤣)

📱I’ve always enjoyed using and supporting users of AAC, however that was much easier when I was in the schools with SO many devices and resources at my fingertips.

📱April’s goal is to take full advantage of the AAC sales and purchase a few AAC apps for Leading Little Language’s iPad, so that we can better support some of our littles!

🫶🏼 2023 was another year of learning SO much as a business owner and SLP.

🫶🏼 I can’t thank my clients, their families, and my friends & family enough for all your support throughout this year! I have loved working with all of you and look forward to continued progress in the new year!

🫶🏼 2023 taught me now to doubt myself, know my worth, and to push the limits. I never thought I’d be a successful private practice owner, as my full time career, but 2023 showed me that I’m capable of that, and so much more!!

🚙 One thing to note, is the continued lack of toys using batteries, screens, or toys that do the “work” for them. Let your kiddos be creative!

🚙 These are all toys I have used in therapy sessions, and loved, for children who are 16 months-3+ years old.

🚙 Please keep in mind that each child’s interest and skill level is different, but the beauty of these toys is their versatility!!

🏖️ Beach Therapist in November? I’ll take it!

🏖️ Being able to take a week long trip in the fall, is something I would never have believed I could do two years ago!

🏖️ While I appreciate my time as a school-based SLP SO much, owning my private practice has allowed me freedom I never thought possible.

🏖️ One of those freedoms, has been the ability to take a vacation when it works best for my family and I, when it’s the best weather to visit somewhere new, when it’s the best weather to leave behind back home, or when it’s best for my mental health to take a break!

🏖️ I LOVED my summer break working in the schools, and I never thought setting my own schedule would be so freeing, but this trip has made me realize just how wonderful the flexibility is that I now have thanks to building Leading Little Language.
