In accordance with Mayor Whitmire's announcement and UTHealth Houston's recommendation for controlled access on campus, the Recreation Center will be adjusting its operating hours. Forecasts indicate Houston may experience freezing temperatures and wintry precipitation with impacts possibly lasting through Monday, January 26th. Travel may be hazardous, especially on elevated roadways. Use caution and plan accordingly. As conditions progress, we'll continue to update the status:

Saturday: Regular Hours, 8AM to 8PM
Sunday: Closed
Monday: Closed

We'll try to update everywhere we can as soon as we know more. For now, here's what you can do to stay alert:

The McGovern Medical School Fitness Center will remain open as long as the Medical School Building is open.

In accordance with Mayor Whitmire's announcement asking Houstonians to stay off the roads beginning at midnight Saturday and plan to remain in a safe location until Monday morning, the Recreation Center will be adjusting its operating hours.

Forecasts indicate Houston may experience freezing temperatures and wintry precipitation with impacts possibly lasting through Monday, January 26th. Travel may be hazardous, especially on elevated roadways. Use caution and plan accordingly. As conditions progress, we'll continue to update the status:

On Labor Day, the Recreation Center will be open from 10AM - 8PM. We appreciate all that you do!

Due to an expected HVAC issues the Recreation Center had to closed today at 1:30PM. We will remain closed today and tomorrow, 8/20. We expect to reopen on Thursday, 8/21 at the usual time! We apologize for the inconvenience and will keep every posted if there are any changes.

ATTENTION: On Tuesday, July 15th the Recreation Center will be closed due to a full electrical outage required for CenterPoint's replacement of our main power pole. To avoid any inconvenience or disruption of occupants and members, the Recreation Center and pool will be closed the entire day. We expect to reopen at 5:30am on Wednesday, July 16th.
