Emotional monitoring is the habit of constantly checking or scanning your feelings to “see if you’re okay.”
It can keep us stuck:

1. Constantly asking: “How am I feeling now?”
2. Worrying if the sadness is “gone yet.”

The truth is: feelings come and go on their own. You don’t have to keep watch 24/7.

Try permitting yourself to simply live your day. Let emotions pass like clouds.

Your worth isn’t measured by how you feel, moment to moment.

Central Texas has experienced devastating loss this July.

Grief in the wake of this tragedy affects us deeply, not just in our hearts, but in our minds and bodies.

You might notice:
1. Difficulty concentrating or sleeping
2. Intense anxiety or emotional numbness
3. Waves of sorrow are tied to memories or daily reminders

This grief is a reflection of immense love, for lives cut short, for communities shattered. It's normal to feel overwhelmed and lost.

Amid the sorrow, please remember:
1. You are allowed to feel deeply, with no guilt, no timeline.
2. You aren’t alone; this is a shared loss across Central Texas and beyond.
3. It’s okay to seek help through grief support, therapy, or talking with caring friends.

May we hold space for collective grief, and for love that still lives on.

Self-care is more than a bubble bath or a day off.

It’s how we build the life we’re trying so hard to hold together.

Eating well, resting enough, moving your body, building healthy relationships, tending to your finances, your faith, your emotional health… these aren’t luxuries. They’re foundations.

If you’re feeling scattered, burnt out, or pulled in too many directions, come back to this: what’s one small way you can show yourself love today?

Not because you’ve earned it, but because you need it.

Grief is the price of deep love.

It’s not something to “get over,” but something we learn to carry. Some days, it feels lighter. Other days, it feels impossibly heavy.

Be gentle with yourself as you navigate waves of sorrow and moments of peace. Your love and your grief both deserve compassion.

Save this if you need a reminder on the hard days.

Courage doesn’t come from having all the answers.

It comes from being willing to finally face the questions you’ve been avoiding.

In my work, I often see leaders and professionals carry silent struggles because they believe strength looks like certainty. But true resilience isn’t knowing it all, it’s having the courage to pause, ask, and sit with the discomfort of not knowing… yet.

If you’ve been carrying something unresolved, a grief, a fear, a question you’ve been avoiding, maybe this is the season to start untangling it.

Therapy can help. Not with quick answers, but with a process that honors your growth.

I recently took a trip to the mountains, and it ended up being more healing than I expected.
Something about getting above the noise and being quiet, small, and still reminded me just how much we all need those moments of pause.

But most of us don’t get to escape to the mountains whenever we need to process, heal, or just catch our breath. And even when we try to create space in the midst of everyday life... sometimes it’s just not enough.

If you’re carrying something heavy (grief, anxiety, a relationship wound) and your usual ways of coping aren’t working anymore, I want you to know help is available. You don’t have to keep pushing through alone. Therapy can be a space where healing actually begins: slowly, safely, and in your own time.

I’m here if you’re ready to talk. Be brave.

I believe in this quote.

Not because people don’t think self-care is important, but because they struggle to feel allowed to practice it. For a lot of clients, somewhere along the way, rest starts to feel like weakness. Boundaries start to feel like betrayal.

But survival isn’t selfish, and neither is needing a break.

To preserve your energy, your identity, and your mental health... and certainly how you show up well for others... some "me time" might be necessary.

If you’re running on empty, ask yourself today: What would it look like to honor your needs before others?

Even five minutes of care: a pause, a breath, a boundary... is a start.
You’re worth that, and more.

So many people I work with are tired. Not just physically, but emotionally. Worn down by the pressure to hold everything together.

As mothers, husbands, employees, or whatever role you're in, you show up for everyone else... but rarely rest. When you do, you feel guilty. Saying "no" to something feels like letting someone down. Setting a boundary feels like a risk. But here’s the truth:

You don’t have to explain why something is too much.
You don’t have to prove you’ve earned rest.
You don’t have to feel bad for protecting your peace.

If that resonates with you, here’s something simple to try today:

Notice when your body says “no” before your mouth says “yes.”

That tension you feel is worth listening to... and maybe saying "no" is the best remedy.

Movement isn’t just physical... it’s emotional. As a therapist, I often remind clients that joyful movement is one of the easiest ways to release stored tension, reconnect with your body, and reclaim presence in your day.

Walking in the park, dancing in your kitchen, or stretching between meetings. Move for the joy of it, not just the outcome. It’s not all about fitness. It’s about freedom.

✨ Reignite your mood
✨ Restore your mind
