We had an incredible time partnering with Autism Moms of Houston for our "Nourishing the Spectrum" workshop. At WIN, we believe that when you change a child’s internal environment, you change their potential for growth.

Here are the top 3 takeaways from Dr. Baez-Franceschi’s presentation:

• The Gut-Brain Connection: Behavior is often biochemical. A "leaky gut" can lead to "leaky brain" symptoms like brain fog and sensory overload.
• Inflammation = "Static": Chronic inflammation interferes with brain processing. Clean nutrition clears the signal.
• Test, Don't Guess: Standard tests aren't enough. Advanced tools like the Gut Zoomer identify the specific stressors affecting your child.

What does it look like when your doctor never stops learning?
For Dr. Carmen Báez-Franceschi, Founder & CEO of the Wellness Institute of Neurodevelopment, it looks like a year defined by rigorous training, scientific curiosity, and a deep commitment to her patients.

At WIN, we don’t just treat symptoms; we investigate the biological blueprint of every individual. Here is what continuous education looks like in action:

🧬 MAPS Fall Conference — September 2025
MAPS Fall 2025 Functional and Translational Medicine Conference
Advancing integrative and biomedical care alongside the Medical Academy of Pediatrics & Special Needs. Dr. Carmen focused on the latest research on nutrition, metabolism, immune function, toxins, and gut–brain connections, all as they relate to autism, ADHD, and complex neurodevelopmental profiles.

⚖️ Biote Training — October 2025
Strengthening her expertise in evidence-based hormone optimization. This training bridges the gap between how hormones influence mood, energy, sleep, cognition, and overall brain function across the lifespan.

🧫 ISSCA Certification — December 2025
Expanding WIN’s capabilities through the International Society for Stem Cell Application. This certification reflects a deep dive into advanced cellular therapies, biologics, and regenerative approaches that may support tissue repair, inflammation modulation, and neurological recovery. For WIN families, it signals that every cutting-edge option considered has been rigorously studied with ethics and long-term safety in mind.

🧠 MAPS Spring Conference — March 2026
Returning to deepen systems-based, functional approaches for neurodiverse patients.

Because at WIN, learning isn’t a checkbox. It’s a commitment to excellence.

Don't miss out, seats are filling up fast! 🏃‍♀️💨

Nourishing the Spectrum isn't just a lecture about food. It's about:
✨ The "Aha!" Moment: Realizing those "behavioral issues" might actually be physical discomfort
✨ The Connection: Clearing the internal noise so your child can focus, listen, and engage

We're moving past the guesswork and diving into the clinical science of:

✅ How metabolic "glitches" trigger hyperactivity and "fog"
✅ Why your child's favorite foods might be acting like chemical opioids
✅ Practical swaps to help picky eaters thrive without the mealtime battle

The Details:

🗓 Date: Saturday, March 28th
⏰ Time: 1:30 PM

Your child's behavior at the dinner table might have nothing to do with the food. 🧠
It might have everything to do with their nervous system.

WIN & Autism Moms of Houston are coming together on March 28 at 1:30 PM for a workshop that goes beyond the diagnosis and gets to the root of what so many neurodiverse families experience at mealtimes.

Dr. Carmen Baez-Franceschi , Board-Certified Pediatrician, founder and CEO of WIN, and author of Comprehending Autism — will guide you through the Gut-Brain connection, explain what's really behind food sensitivities and picky eating, and leave you with practical tools you can start using the same day.

Let’s talk about language delay. Language is about understanding and using meaning. Children may struggle with vocabulary, combining words, or understanding instructions.

Tips to develop your toddler's language at home:

💬 Talk through your day: Describe what you’re doing and what your child is seeing.
🗣️ Expand on their words: If your child says “dog,” respond with “Yes, the dog is running fast!”
📚 Read together: Ask questions, point to pictures, and encourage your child to respond.
🎭 Play pretend games: Cooking, shopping, or tea parties help children practice words in context.
🤲 Encourage gestures and signs: Linking words with actions helps understand.
🎵 Sing, rhyme, and repeat: Songs and rhymes reinforce vocabulary and sentence patterns.

Every child grows at their own pace 💛Noticing early signs can help you identify patterns and seek support when it matters most.

At WIN, we’re here to guide you through your child’s development and provide the care and peace of mind your family deserves 🌟Check out our website for more information.

Parents...we know the mealtime struggle is real. Is it the "picky eater" phase... or a metabolic signal? 🧩🍎Between sensory sensitivities and conflicting nutritional advice, it's hard to know what actually works.

Join us for an exclusive workshop in partnership with Autism Moms of Houston. We'll explain how certain foods act as "chemical noise" in a neurodivergent brain and explain the science behind how proper nutrition can positively influence behavior, speech, and focus in children with autism.

📍 WHERE: Richard & Meg Weekley Community Center
🗓 WHEN: Saturday, March 28th | 1:30 PM

Ever feel like your child’s behavior changes the moment they leave the kitchen table? 🥣📉

It’s not "just" a behavioral phase. According to the Franceschi Method™, it’s often a Metabolic Glitch. When a child's system can't process certain foods, those foods don't provide energy—they create "chemical noise" in the brain. This can lead to the brain fog, hyperactivity, and sensory struggles we see every day in the autism community.

At WIN, we are pulling back the curtain on the science of the Food-Brain connection. Read the post to see how it works! ➡️

🧠Research using advanced imaging like SPECT and PET scans shows that many children with autism have hypoperfusion—reduced blood flow—in several brain areas. These regions are critical for language, sensory processing, social engagement, and emotional regulation.

This reduced flow limits oxygen and nutrients, which can impair how these regions function. Differences in autism biology can make this worse, creating a vicious cycle:
🔄Low blood flow → hypoxia → inflammation → further blood flow reduction.

Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) may help by increasing oxygen delivery, supporting metabolism, and reducing inflammation—helping the brain function more efficiently.

At WIN, we go deeper than surface solutions, combining therapies that address brain physiology and inflammation to support children where they need it most.

Let’s talk about speech delay. If you're watching other toddlers chat away while your child stays quiet, we know how frustrating that can be. 💙

Speech delays happen for so many reasons—and most of them have nothing to do with how much you talked to your baby or how many books you read. Sometimes, kids understand everything but have difficulty actually producing speech sounds. The connection between the brain and mouth just isn't flowing the way it should yet.

You can help your toddler develop speech and language at home:
🗣️Talk constantly: Narrate your day, describe what you’re doing, and name objects around you.
📕Read together: Choose age-appropriate books with pictures, textures, and simple words. Ask questions and encourage interaction.
🎤Sing & rhyme: Songs and nursery rhymes help children hear and practice sounds.
🦜Encourage imitation: Repeat sounds and words your child attempts, and model correct pronunciation.
👧🏻Play games: Peek-a-boo, pat-a-cake, or pretend play can encourage communication naturally.
👉Use gestures: Point, wave, or mimic actions to link words with meaning.

As parents, the most important thing is to pay attention. If you notice even small concerns, it’s never too early to seek support.

At WIN, we’re here to guide you through your child’s development and provide the care and peace of mind your family deserves 🌟

Let's talk about something most parents have never heard of, but might explain so much of what you're seeing in your child.

Primitive reflexes.

What are primitive reflexes? 🗿Every baby is born with automatic reflexes—like when a newborn automatically grasps your finger or turns their head when you stroke their cheek. These aren't conscious movements; they're survival instincts hardwired into the brainstem.

As the brain matures, these reflexes are supposed to naturally fade. 🙅🏻‍♀️When they remain active longer than expected, they can interfere with development in ways that aren’t always obvious.

Signs to watch for:
⚡ Difficulty with coordination or balance
🖐 Trouble with fine motor skills (holding a pencil, using utensils)
🧠 Struggles with focus, learning, or behavior
🚶 Challenges with crawling, walking, or other movement milestones

The good news? When we identify them early and address them properly, children can make incredible progress. We're talking about real breakthroughs in coordination, focus, learning, and confidence.

If this resonates with what you've been experiencing, let's chat.

Our Story

“What inspired me to develop this treatment was that the parents of my patients visited different health specialists and children did not improve. I gave myself the task of finding a solution based on results, parents are an integral part of the process and become our most demanding evaluators. Ensure that our parents are satisfied with the progress of their children is our greatest satisfaction.” -Dr. Carmen Baez Franceschi.
