Meeting up with a mama today at our local coffee shop, to bring her some books and talk all the pregnancy and birth things!

Being a birth doula is so much more than in-person labor support. It includes prenatal meetings to build relationships, discuss birth preferences, and prepare emotionally and physically.
It also involves providing evidence-based resources, books, and ongoing guidance to help families feel confident throughout the entire pregnancy and birth journey.

✨ **On Call for My Last Birth of the Year** ✨

I haven’t shared much on here lately, and I wanted to pop in with a little life update. This season has been *full* — lots of beautiful births, lots of hours on call, and also some personal heaviness. I’ve been navigating a few health challenges, and tests, and recently lost my uncle unexpectedly, which has brought its own weight and reflection.

Even though I haven’t been as active on social media, I’m still here, still doulaing, still supporting families through some of their most powerful moments. Sometimes life asks us to step back a bit, breathe, and tend to our own hearts, and that’s exactly what I’ve been doing.

As I go on call for my final birth of the year, I’m feeling grateful — for my clients, for their trust, for the work itself, and for the reminder that this path is about presence more than posting.

Thank you all for your patience, your kindness, and your continued support. 💛
Here’s to closing out the year with intention, compassion, and a whole lot of love.

Welcome to the world little one!
First time at this hospital for me and I really enjoyed it had some wonderful nurses, and obs.

Talk about a strong first time mama! Her husband bragged about her pain tolerance and it showed! She had weeks of prodromal labor and lots of back labor.
But She did amazing made it to 10 cm without an epidural in a hospital. Where interventions are around ever corner but she stuck to her birth plan to avoid pitocin and didnt need any medications to augment labor, We did lots of movement, lots of counter pressure, position changes it was a full birth team effort.

And he made his arrival at 8:03 this morning at
9lbs 5oz
22 in long

So happy for them!!

**A Week in the Life of a Doula 🫶**

Every week as a doula looks a little different — full of heart, hustle, and holding space. Here's a peek into what this past week looked like:

📄 sent out a birth support contract to a new client who just said YES to doula care! There's nothing like that initial connection and the excitement of planning together.

📞 Checked in with two third-trimester clients — . These check-ins are a mix of reassurance, strategy, and emotional support.

👶 taught a private birth class in the evening — we covered labor stages, comfort measures, and how partners can be empowered, not overwhelmed. Love watching confidence grow in real time.

📷 Did a breastfeeding photo session with a beautiful baby and her mama. — tiny hands, snuggles, and that beauty of breastfeeding.

🌙 Got a 2am text from a client feeling crampy and unsure — we talked through early labor signs and made a plan. ( I always keep my phone close for moments like this!).

👩‍🏫 Taught another birth class at their home — laughter, questions, and a whole lot of learning.
