I’ve seen it too many times in my almost 7 years of being a TCM doctor that people come in when nothing else works. Most of the time their condition could have easily been addressed years ago had they known to do acupuncture and Chinese medicine first. It’s not their fault they don’t know. The US medical system works in a very singular fashion and referrals to holistic providers is still rare.

Although TCM won’t solve every issue alone it can be the difference in an acute issue becoming a chronic one.

We are grateful to announce that our youngest Texans fan of the family has made his safe earth-side arrival. Baby Dennis made his debut just in time to see his favorite team pull off their big win this week. ❤️💙

He is currently keeping us busy with diaper changes and breastfeeding sessions. It’s basically a milk 🥛 buffet around here. So at some point we will respond to all messages. 🫶🏾

Introducing our newest Doctor of Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine!

Dr. Marysa Johnson, DACM, LAc.—affectionately known as Dr. MJ—earned her Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Baylor University in 2016. Before entering the world of holistic health, she spent five years immersed in rice hybridization research. Her journey toward acupuncture began during college, when a personal health challenge and a few transformative acupuncture sessions shifted her path away from conventional medical school and toward Eastern medicine.

Inspired by the profound healing she experienced, Dr. MJ pursued and completed both her Master’s and Doctorate degrees in Acupuncture and Chinese Herbal Medicine from the American College of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (ACAOM). Today, she brings a compassionate and inclusive approach to care, committed to redefining holistic wellness through the lens of her own lived experiences with medical bias and healing.

When she’s not in clinic, you can find Dr. MJ exploring new restaurants, traveling the world, or crushing workouts on her Peloton—bike and tread alike.

Sunday Zen 🧘🏾‍♀️: Pre-Autumn Equinox meditation session at Menil Park with Dr. Lauren . While they played the sound bowls, chimes, and wind instruments we had a nice cleansing light rain come over us. It was perfect 🤩. Then the sun came back out. The baby moved and did a few stretches in my belly. I’d say he loved it too. lol.
