Our Volunteer Internship Program is more than just an opportunity; it’s a stepping stone for the next generation to grow, learn, and discover their purpose. We are honored to mentor young individuals who are passionate about making a difference in the lives of others.

Watching our interns develop confidence, empathy, and real-world experience is something we take great pride in. Whether they continue in healthcare or carry these values into other paths, we know they are leaving with skills that truly matter.

We want to congratulate Elise on completing 200 hours and welcome her from the internship role to continuing volunteering with us.

Then there’s Matt…
When our amazing marketing chaplain, motorcycle Matt, rolls into your building, you already know it’s about to be a good day. He shows up with smiles, energy drinks, treats for the team, encouragement for the staff, and apparently even snacks for the goat.
This is what makes Concho Hearts Hospice special. We believe in bringing joy, connection, and real relationships everywhere we go. Sometimes ministry looks like prayer. Sometimes it looks like kindness. Sometimes it looks like feeding a goat while carrying a case of Red Bull.
Never a dull moment with Team Concho!!! We wouldn’t have it any other way.

-Chaplain Thought of the Day-

Yesterday I had the privilege of sitting with a family and talking through life’s journey. In moments like that, I often hear the same heartfelt question:
“We trust God. We are praying. But why are we going through this?”
That question is real, honest, and deeply human.
This morning I was reminded of the words in Second Corinthians 1:3-4, where God is called the Father of mercies and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in our troubles so that we may comfort others.
What a powerful reminder.
Sometimes when we are in the middle of pain, we cannot see the purpose. We do not understand the timing. We may feel tired, overwhelmed, or discouraged.
But God never wastes a season.
The comfort He gives us today may become the comfort we give someone else tomorrow. The strength we learn in hardship may one day help carry another person through theirs.
Remember, a fruit tree does not produce fruit for itself. It produces fruit for others.
So if today feels heavy, hold on to hope. God is still working. He is shaping strength in you, building compassion in you, and preparing you to be a light for someone else.
Sometimes the greatest ministry comes from the battles we never wanted to fight.

Work hard. Laugh harder.
We had an incredible staff meeting and happy hour with our Concho Hearts north and south Houston families, and it was one of those moments that reminds you why culture matters.
This team shows up every single day for patients and families during some of life’s hardest seasons. And when we get the chance to step back, share a meal, laugh a little, and just enjoy being together… it means something.
Grateful for a team that cares deeply, works tirelessly, and still knows how to have a good time.
This is what hospice done right looks like!
