Ms. Sara Claus went to be with the Lord on December 4, 2020. She will be greatly missed. Tribute
Sara was called home by the Lord at the age of 74 on December 4th at her home, surrounded by her family.
She was preceded in death by her father Edward Hopkins, and her mother Louise Wilson Hopkins
She is survived by her loving husband of 39 years Glenn C. Westberry, step sons Craig Westberry, Chris Westberry (Tabatha), brother and sister-in-law Rannel and Joanne Westberry, grandchildren Jennifer Brigham and Julia Daniel Westberry along with 4 great grandchildren. Her sister Carolyn Conner (Robert) and several nieces and nephews, along with a special friend Lynn Seiley. She was born at Lakeland Children’s Home and adopted at birth. She grew up in Lakeland Florida and graduated from Lakeland High School. She was employed by Merrill Lynch for 37 years starting in Lakeland Florida, relocating to Asheville North Carolina and finally to Houston Texas. She was a member of Santa America, the International Brotherhood of Real Bearded Santas and Lone Star Santa Charities where she and her husband participated in the convoy of toys which distributed toys to children during disaster relief. She was also a counselor at Northwest Pregnancy Center and a volunteer with meals on wheels and with her husband at Houston Hospice bringing Christmas joy to children under hospice care. She was a member of Metropolitan Baptist Church for 33 years participating in various areas of the church activities. Sara always made everyone feel welcome by her warm personality. If she teased you she liked you. She was always there to help and will be missed by all.
