Dr. Rodriguez began performing wide-awake liposuction, with no general anesthesia in 2000. Always on the forefront of innovative technology, he helped introduce nonsurgical mesotherapy (lipodissolve) fat reduction to the United States with his appearance with Barbara Walters on ABC News 20/20 in 2003. in 2007, Dr. Rodriguez became the first doctor in Dallas to offer the SmartLipo procedure, and in early 2008 in Houston. He also incorporated the more sophisticated VASER LipoSelection technology, which uses ultrasonic energy to melt fat under the skin first, to facilitate easier, less traumatic, less painful permanent fat removal.
Many patients want improvement in their previous liposuction or tummy tuck operations, but find that most cosmetic surgeons shun away from operating on them, especially when re-operation is technically more complex due to scarring. Using newer technology, Dr. Rodriguez has dedicated his practice to address those needs, providing new hope.
Dr. Rodriguez is a board certified cosmetic surgeon with over 25 years of surgical experience, After getting his MD degree from the prestigious University of TX Southwestern Medical School, he completed his surgery residency at the second largest teaching hospital in the Air Force, Keesler Medical Center, and subsequently achieved board certification by the American Board of Surgery. He is a member of the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery, American Society of Liposuction Surgery, and the Texas Cosmetic Surgery Society. Born in Havana, Cuba, he is fluent in Spanish.
