Our pediatric walk-in clinic at Legacy Southwest (6441 High Star Drive, Houston, TX 77074) will be open on Friday, November 28 from 10:00 am - 6:00 pm.

The Legacy Montrose and Southwest Clinics will resume normal hours on Saturday, November 29. Legacy Pharmacy - Montrose will be open from 8:00 am - 5:00 pm.

With Gratitude to Those Who Served

Every year, we observe Veterans Day to recognize those who have served our nation as part of our armed forces. We honor these individuals for their sacrifice and devotion, here at Legacy and across the country.

Featured here are a few of the many veterans who contribute to Legacy's mission:

Joseph Mayers, United States Army - "This day is a day to reflect on the current serving military members and the sacrifice their families make while a service member is away from home."

Melody Gray, United States Air Force - "As the daughter of a World War II Veteran, I felt so proud to serve my country. I joined the Air Force from 1983 and served overseas at RAF Bentwaters and Travis AFB in California as an Air Cargo Specialist until 1988. I achieved the rank of Sergeant and received the Meritorious Service Medal for Outstanding Noncombat Meritorious Service in 1987. I am a fierce advocate for Veteran's rights and protections and champion legislation and public support for veterans and their families."

Nelson Matute, Texas State Guard - "This day reminds me of the value of serving my community, the State of Texas and my country with purpose, dedication and selflessness, giving others the chance to be free."

Oliver Peralta, United States Army - "Veterans Day is important to me because it's a time to honor the courage, sacrifice, and dedication of those who've served in our armed forces. All Legacy clinics and pharmacies will be closed on Labor Day, September 1, with the exception of Legacy Southwest Campus. Our Legacy Southwest Campus located at 6441 High Star 77074 will be available to address pediatric walk-ins from 10:00 am – 6:00 pm.

All locations will resume regular clinic hours on Tuesday, September 2.

🍼 August is National Breastfeeding Month and we’re celebrating YOU. The parents, families and caregivers who make nurturing choices every day.

From August 1–7, we joined the global celebration of World Breastfeeding Week with a special tabling event across 8 Legacy clinics. Families received educational materials, giveaways, and connected with our care teams to learn more about breastfeeding support and the new breastfeeding education classes offered throughout the month. 🎉

Meet Alejandra Zuniga, our Prenatal Navigation Manager, who’s helping families overcome barriers to breastfeeding with compassion and culturally responsive care.

Need personalized support? Our certified lactation consultant, Yanett Hodgson, is here for you, and offers one-on-one visits, telehealth, and walk-ins at our Southwest Clinic.

Breastfeeding is more than milk, it’s about bonding, healing, and building a healthier future. 💪

This week, Legacy's Early Childhood Development team came out to support Kids' Meals, Inc., which works to fight childhood hunger in Houston.

🎨 We brought 142 beautifully decorated lunch bags created by our amazing Legacy team members.
🥪 Together, we packed 600 nutritious lunches for preschoolers across the city.
🚚 Kids' Meals delivers 9,000 meals daily to food-insecure children in Houston.

Thank you to everyone at Kids' Meals and to our Legacy team members who helped make a difference.

Legacy Community Health headed north this week to drop off a truckload of supplies for flood victims in San Angelo, Texas. Legacy's facilities team collected and wrapped pallets stacked with individual hygiene kits and other donations, courtesy of our friends at International Medical Corps (IMC) and Direct Relief.

Facilities Management Senior Director Eric Howard and Marketing Manager Ivan Bocanegra drove to San Angelo to deliver the much-needed supplies to our fellow Texas FQHC, La Esperanza Clinic. CEO Dean Munn and his team have been out in the community with their mobile unit, with anxiety and medication needs as top concerns.

"Texas Community Health Centers always rise to the cause and are part of the solution," said Munn. "We appreciate our friends at Legacy for making the six-hour drive here to bring us these supplies."

A heartfelt thank you to Team Legacy for truly bringing our mission to life— Driving healthy change in our communities!
