This is what your skin can look like after just one Aerolase treatment. 🙌🏾
Active acne: cleared. Dark marks: still fading, and that's exactly on track.
Here's what most people don't know: acne and hyperpigmentation are two separate processes. The breakouts respond first. The dark marks take longer. Most patients need a series of at least 6 sessions for optimal results.
For women in their 30s and 40s still battling breakouts — your hormones are likely involved. At Hibiscus, we take an integrative approach. That means we find the root cause and treat it — whether that's lifestyle, topical, oral, or energy-based treatment. No cookie-cutter protocols. Just a plan built around you.
Ready for clear skin? Book your acne consultation today.

You know your body. And if something feels off, trust that.
So many women are told their exhaustion, brain fog, and mood changes are anxiety or depression. Sometimes that's true. But sometimes? It's hormones.
Estrogen affects serotonin. Progesterone protects your sleep. Testosterone drives your energy and motivation. When these shift, the symptoms can be almost identical to a mental health diagnosis, but the treatment is completely different.
You deserve a physician who looks at both, and that's what we do at Hibiscus 💕

Your annual labs aren't telling the whole story.
After 40, three specific markers: HOMA-IR, hsCRP, and Vitamin D can reveal insulin resistance, hidden inflammation, and metabolic risk before symptoms ever appear. Most standard panels skip them entirely. You deserve to know what's actually going on in your body.

GLP-1s are genuinely changing lives. I prescribe them, I believe in them.
But as a physician who treats obesity every day, there are things I wish every patient knew before starting:

1. Protect your muscle.
When you lose weight quickly, you lose fat and muscle. Muscle is your metabolism. If we're not intentional about protein and staying active, you lose the thing that keeps the weight off long-term.

2. Use the window.
GLP-1s quiet your hunger in a way nothing else does. That's a gift, but it's temporary. The patients who keep the weight off are the ones who used that time to build habits that actually stick.

3. Make sure someone is genuinely watching.
Not just a refill every 30 days. A Clinician who's checking your labs, monitoring your body composition, adjusting your dose, and asking how you're actually doing.

These medications are powerful. Having the right medical plan is just as important.

That long list of side effects can feel terrifying — but here’s some important context.

In the US, clinical studies are required to report every side effect that occurs, even extremely rare ones. So when you see a lengthy list, it doesn’t mean all of those things are likely to happen to you — it means the research was thorough.
For many people living with obesity, the health risks of not treating it — including type 2 diabetes, heart disease, and certain cancers — can be significantly greater than the risk of uncommon side effects from medication.

That doesn’t mean GLP-1s are right for everyone. It means the decision deserves a real, informed conversation with your doctor — one where you understand the full picture, not just the scary parts.

💬 Save this for that conversation. Share it with someone who needs to hear it. And drop your questions or experiences in the comments — this is a safe space to talk it through.

Thinking about starting a GLP-1? Pause for 30 seconds and ask yourself:
1. Do I know why my body is holding weight? (insulin resistance, hormones, meds, labs)
2. What’s the plan beyond the shot? (protein + strength training, side effects, muscle preservation)
3. Who’s actually monitoring this? (dose changes, labs, taper/maintenance plan)
GLP-1s can be amazing—but they work best with a full plan, not vibes.Save this + send it to a friend who’s considering one.

Filler done well = soft volume restoration in the right places (cheeks, under-eyes, mouth) to reduce shadows—not overfilling.
Most fillers are hyaluronic acid, but the outcome depends on technique + subtle placement. Think: balance, harmony, and subtlety.
Questions you should ask at a consult:
✅ What’s the goal—lift, soften, or hydrate?✅ How much are we starting with?✅ What’s the plan over time?

Ask me your questions in the comments!

“Wow…that’s not what I expected.” I hear this after first weight visits all the time.
Because we don’t just talk calories + the scale—we look at sleep, stress, hormones, past dieting, meds, and what your labs are showing.

When people learn weight is biology + behavior, the self-blame softens. You’re not broken—there may be medical factors we can address together.

Save this if you’ve been feeling stuck, and drop your questions below.
