An Amazing Result for an Amazing Person TM
One of my favorite cases, highlighting the significance that orthognathic correction has on restoring facial harmony, function and balance.
This amazing person presented as a case of Maxillomandbiluar Hypoplasia, hyperdivergence and complained of inability to close lips properly (mentalis strain) and suboptimal breathing (poor airway). Also her occlusion had notable issues as her iaws couldn't occlude properly.
The game plan was a bimaxillary advancement with counterclockwise rotation, and the movements were as follows:
Maxilla was moved up 1 mm and forward 3.5 mm.
The Pogonion was pushed forward 19.7 mm, and she received 3 degrees of counter clockwise to achieve a more normodivergent facial growth pattern.
Patient reported improved quality of life post op, as good occlusion was obtained, airways enlarged and facial harmony improved. Amazing to see how profound of a change we can achieve in less than a 90 minute intervention with our custom protocol, leading to improved patient outcome and recovery.
