Definitely been experiencing this a lot lately:“Grief affects our minds. After the great author C.S. Lewis lost his wife, he described his experience as if there were a blanket between him and the world. He found it hard to listen to what others were saying. Every thought felt disrupted, and he had trouble concentrating. He wrote that it was hard to focus because every thought led him to thinking about the loss of his wife. The thoughts of his late wife quite literally took over his brain. And that is the reality of grief— with grief, our habits, emotions, thought patterns and future plans all face the reality of our loss.” ~gospel hope for grief and loss

A bit if an update on myself and our Little Laidey. Currently we are staying with Daniel’s parents in Wimberley and will remain here as a base over the next few months to take time to make the right move and end up in the right place moving forward.

I am seeking and praying over a few different locations, and will begin applying for worship ministry positions. Trusting that through this time and prayer and discernment the LORD will make clear where we should plant ourselves.

In the meantime, please be praying for us as we grieve and process and work to make wise decisions!

One week ago today I woke up for the first time without Daniel Barecky, my best friend. Husband and father. It’s hard…I wake up every morning still and roll over expecting him to be here and he’s not. 😭 I know he is with Jesus, whole and well and celebrating for eternity…but selfishly I wish he was still with me and Adelaide. I wish she would get to know her daddy. I wish he could watch her grow and learn and get to pour into her, but he’s just not. 🥺❤️‍🩹😮‍💨

On a brighter side, i cannot say enough to all those who have walked with us this past year of married life, our family and friends, church families from Ontario, Texas and Oklahoma. Never before in my life have I so tangibly experienced “a great cloud of witnesses” as I have through this journey thus far.

Please continue to pray for Adelaide and me and for all those mourning the loss of Daniel.

I’m going to take a little social media hiatus to rest and process. ❤️‍🩹😮‍💨🥺😭 see y’all soon.

I am excited to announce that I am now a Grief Recovery Method Specialist, certified by the Grief Recovery Institute. Welcome to my Page!

This program is a practical, skill and tool based program that has been proven over 40+ years to help grievers walk through past, current and future grief and loss.

I look forward to sharing more information with you in the coming weeks. I know this program has been and continues to be instrumental in my day to day recovery and I hope it will come
