Dr. Jafarnia celebrates with Houston Methodist’s Orthopedics & Sports Medicine residents and team. Being recognized by Houstonia Magazine as one of the Top Doctors of 2025 is an honor!

According to Houstonia, here’s how these doctors were chosen: “Houstonia partnered with the Professional Research Services survey company to poll health care practitioners in the metro area, asking, “If you or a loved one needed care, whom would you choose?” Voters nominated their peers based on years of experience, competency, rapport with patients, patient satisfaction, compliance with care recommendations, and ability to work effectively with colleagues across specialties to deliver the best patient care.”

Repetitive Strain Injuries or RSI’s are common in workplaces that involve tasks like using a mouse, typing, or assembly line work. These RSI conditions are caused by repeated movements or awkward postures and can develop over time.

There’s good news! Simple ergonomic changes to your workspace can help you find more comfort and prevent injury.

1. Keep your wrists straight and neutral.
2. Take frequent breaks to stretch your hands and wrists.
3. Adjust your chair so your elbows are at a 90-degree angle.
4. Keep your keyboard and mouse close to avoid overreaching.

Prevention is key, but if you're already feeling pain, proper care is crucial. Visit Dr. Jafarnia and the team at Houston Methodist to ensure you get the right treatment and maintain your mobility.

Living with arthritis pain doesn't have to mean constant discomfort. Consulting a Houston orthopaedic surgeon, like Dr. Jafarnia, is key for personalized care. However, many at-home strategies can significantly ease your symptoms.

Here are some simple tips to help you manage joint pain and improve your daily life:

✅Heat & Cold: Apply heat (heating pads, warm baths) to relax muscles and ease stiffness, or cold packs to numb pain and reduce swelling.
✅Manage Weight: The difference in even a few pounds can impact or improve stress on knees and hips, helping to alleviate arthritis pain.
✅Eat Smart: Focus on an anti-inflammatory diet to help reduce inflammation. Limit processed foods and sugar.
✅Good Sleep: Prioritize quality sleep to help your body better cope with pain and inflammation. Aim for a consistent sleep schedule.
✅Reduce Stress: Practice stress-reducing techniques like meditation or deep breathing. Less stress can lead to noticeable improvements in your pain levels.

✨Remember, these tips are great for daily management, but for persistent or severe arthritis, don't hesitate to connect with a Houston surgeon, like Dr. Korsh Jafarnia, to explore comprehensive treatment options.✨
