The transition of artificial intelligence in healthcare from a futuristic concept to a daily reality is happening faster than many expected. While some clinicians still view the technology with a healthy dose of skepticism—citing concerns over privacy, displacement of judgment, and systemic bias—early adopters are proving that AI isn’t here to replace doctors. Instead, it’s here to act as the ultimate assistant.

By automating the mundane and sharpening diagnostic accuracy, AI is allowing healthcare providers to get back to what they do best: caring for patients. Here are five groundbreaking ways AI is currently transforming the medical landscape.

In our November 2025 blog, From the Sidelines to the Scan Room, we discussed how Bone Densitometry (DEXA) has moved from the hospital to the sidelines. From managing RED-S to monitoring return-to-play structural integrity, the “Gold Standard” of body composition is now a staple in modern sports science.

But for the practicing Athletic Trainer, the question usually isn’t why you should use it—it’s how do you obtain the education and make sure it’s approved CE for your certification?

With our new status as a BOC Approved Provider, AHEC has built a streamlined “Roadmap to DEXA” specifically designed for the busy AT.

The roadmap for the Athletic Trainer to master DEXA. Get BOC Category A CEUs, meet radiation safety rules, and join our June 12-13 course. Advance your career!
