Surgical scars are inevitable regardless of closure technique. My recommendation is similar to American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS), avoid sun exposure, moisturize, apply silicone sheets (Oleeva Silicone), hydrate 8 oz/hour, 100 grams of protein per day, limit your activity to prevent open wounds, and use antibiotics if prescribed by your board certified plastic surgeon. American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS) board certification matters. More and more physicians are attempting cosmetic surgery because of poor reimbursements. They find cosmetic surgery appealing because of fee for service and quick ROI. Be very careful who you choose to perform injections such as neurotoxins and fillers. Be very careful with who you choose to perform liposuction surgery. ASPS Members have training, experience, and expertise to guide you through cosmetic surgery and help achieve your goals.
