Hi Medhum!

The Medical Humanities Symposium is an annual event held by the Rice MedHum Club that brings in clinicians and faculty from various disciplines of the humanities to speak about their work pertaining to a chosen theme of medical humanities. One of the new events we will be planning this year is a humanities-based hackathon, where students can creatively engage with medical humanities topics.

If you're interested in being part of the Symposium Committee to help organize this year's symposium and hackathon, please apply with the link below! The application is open until Sunday, September 26th at 11:59 pm.
https://forms.gle/uecEceZu12xbWc19A

We welcome anyone who is interested in helping plan the event(s), regardless of experience with medical humanities. This is a great opportunity to build connections with faculty at Rice and the TMC, and gain experience organizing events!

Hi everyone! Join us for a Zoom chat with Carol Herron this Monday at 4 pm! Zoom details on the flyer!

The Rice Medical Humanities Club wants to show gratitude to frontline workers and medical professionals by launching the “Notes for Coats” campaign, which encourages Rice students, faculty, and staff to write letters of support to healthcare workers across the country.

We have partnered with multiple institutions including The Montefiore Health System of the Bronx, Tsehootsooi Medical Center of Arizona, and The Holy Name Medical Center in New Jersey. We hope that by sending these letters, healthcare professionals across the country feel appreciated and comforted during these difficult times.

Please visit http://medhumclub.rice.edu/letter_submission.html to submit a letter. Handwritten letters are also welcome! Please contact mkw8@rice.edu for more information.
