Bone reconstruction before implant placement.

A missing maxillary lateral incisor often presents with a significant loss of bone volume, making ideal implant positioning difficult without rebuilding the foundation first.

In the top photo, you can see the ridge deficiency present at the lateral incisor site. Without adequate bone width and contour, placing an implant would compromise both function and esthetics.

Using Guided Bone Regeneration (GBR) with bone grafting and barrier membrane techniques, we were able to regenerate the missing bone and restore the natural ridge architecture.

The bottom photo shows the healed site after regeneration — providing the proper volume and contour needed for predictable implant placement and an esthetic final result.

Building the foundation is the key to long-term implant success.

Sticky bone in action.

This is a mixture of particulate cadaver bone graft combined with PRF (platelet-rich fibrin). The patient’s own growth factors bind the graft particles together, creating what we call “sticky bone.”

This cohesive graft is easier to handle, stays where we place it, and helps support predictable bone regeneration for future implant placement. The biologic components in PRF also enhance healing and improve the body’s ability to integrate the graft.

Modern regenerative techniques like this allow us to rebuild bone and restore function in areas that once would have been very difficult to treat.

In the top image, you can see a retained primary tooth with no permanent successor. Over time, these teeth can become mobile, infected, or structurally compromised — making extraction inevitable.

Rather than waiting months for healing and bone remodeling, the primary tooth was carefully extracted and a dental implant was placed immediately into the socket, as shown in the bottom image.
