Su***de loss carries a unique clinical and emotional weight.

It often includes shock, unanswered questions, complicated grief responses, anger, guilt, and stigma. Many individuals navigating su***de loss experience isolation because the grief is difficult to discuss openly.

Grief after su***de is not linear. It is layered.

As a psychologist specializing in su***de prevention and grief, I want to emphasize:

• There is no “right way” to grieve.
• Trauma responses are common after sudden loss.
• Support reduces long term psychological impact.
• Silence compounds suffering.

If you or someone you know is struggling in the aftermath of su***de loss, call or text 988.

Grief deserves language.
Support changes outcomes.

Strong love doesn’t mean conflict free love. It means choosing each other even when things feel hard.

Relationships thrive when both people feel seen, heard, and emotionally safe. With the right tools and intentional work, clarity replaces confusion, and connection replaces distance.

Love can work when you both decide to work it. 💫

Love isn’t about being perfect, it’s about being willing. Willing to listen. Willing to grow. Willing to fight for connection instead of against each other.

Every relationship has seasons, but with honesty, accountability, and support, things can work out. Healing is possible. Communication is learnable. Love is sustainable when both partners show up. ❤️

Love isn’t about being from different planets, it’s about learning how to speak each other’s language. 💫

Venus. Mars. Different emotional needs. Different communication styles. Same goal: connection.

In couples therapy, we slow it down, unpack the hurt, and build understanding, because healthy love takes intention, accountability, and work. ❤️✨

Ready to bridge the gap between “us vs. me” and move toward “we”?

Every relationship has ups and downs, but constant chaos, disrespect, emotional shutdown, or walking on eggshells isn’t “normal.”

In couples therapy, we identify unhealthy patterns, unpack triggers, strengthen communication, and rebuild emotional safety. Sometimes we repair. Sometimes we gain clarity. Either way, we grow. ❤️

Healthy love isn’t perfect, it’s intentional.

Love is beautiful… and it’s work.

Every relationship will face moments of miscommunication, hurt feelings, and disconnection. What matters most isn’t whether challenges happen its whether you’re both willing to show up and work through them. Couples therapy isn’t about “who’s right.” It’s about learning how to listen, repair, reconnect, and grow stronger together.

This Valentine’s season, give your relationship something more meaningful than flowers, give it the tools to thrive. 🌹

If you and your partner are ready to strengthen communication, rebuild trust, and deepen intimacy, I’d love to support you.

Because love isn’t just a feeling , it’s a commitment to keep working on “us.” ❤️

Still sitting with this feedback from Monday’s Su***de Survivors in Grief training 🤍

Phenomenal. Enlightening. Challenging (in the best way). 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽

These are the rooms I love being in!! ❤️where clinicians show up open, thoughtful, and willing to stretch for the sake of their clients. Deeply grateful for practices that trust me with this work and invite meaningful, honest conversations around loss, grief, and su***de survivorship.

More to come. Always.🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽

Even warriors need rest. Kings need care. 👑

Dr. Meagan N. Houston

Too often, men are taught to fight through pain, to keep pushing even when their spirit is exhausted. But healing isn’t weakness, it’s wisdom.
Rest doesn’t take away your crown. It reminds you that your power has limits, and your peace has value. 💭
This Men’s Health Month, let’s honor the men who fight quietly, feel deeply, and are learning that self-care is strength. 💙

Another reminder that even those who seem strong, successful, and surrounded by support can be silently struggling. 💔
We lost Marshawn Kneeland far too soon , and his story reminds us to check in, speak up, and reach out.
You are not alone. Healing is possible. There is help. There is hope. 💛
Call or text 988 if you or someone you know is in crisis.

Today’s didactic experience took us beyond the classroom and into the real world of mental health care.

I took my students to Kingwood Pines Hospital located in Kingwood, Texas, to see where patients begin their healing journey, to walk the halls, feel the environment, and truly understand what inpatient treatment looks like.

This visit reminded us that therapy isn’t just about treatment plans or theory… it’s about compassion, connection, and creating safe spaces for people to rebuild.

I’m so proud of my students for showing up with open hearts and minds, ready to learn, observe, and grow into the next generation of clinicians who lead with empathy. 💛
