🌈💙🐣 One Special Day at Endeavor! 🐣💙🌈

We had an amazing time celebrating Autism Awareness Day: Light It Up Blue alongside our Easter Egg Hunt, all in one fun-filled day!

💙 Our center was full of blue as clients and staff came together to show support for autism awareness, acceptance, and inclusion. It was such a powerful way to celebrate the unique strengths and individuality of every child we serve.

🐣 The excitement continued with our Easter Egg Hunt, where our clients had a blast searching for eggs, exploring their environment, and enjoying time with their peers. The smiles, laughter, and engagement made the day truly special.

🎉 And we couldn’t forget our team! Staff joined in on their own egg hunt and walked away with money, goodies, and even PTO hours, just a small way to show our appreciation for all they do each day.

We are so proud of our clients and so thankful for our incredible team, who helped make this day run so smoothly. 💛

🌟 Happy 1-Year Endeavorsary, Kevin! 🌟

Today we’re celebrating Kevin and his first year with the Endeavor team! Kevin serves as our Assistant Operations Manager and plays a major role within our clinical scheduling team, helping ensure schedules are organized and the day-to-day flow of the clinic stays on track. 💻📊

One project Kevin especially enjoyed this past year was working with and learning the ABAS scheduling software. Diving into the system gave him the opportunity to strengthen his understanding of scheduling operations while helping support the coordination that keeps our clinical services running smoothly.

As Kevin looks ahead to his next year at EBI, he shared that he hopes to continue growing within Operations and to take on additional responsibilities to further develop his operational skill set and continue expanding in his role. 📈

🌮 Did You Know? 💡

At Endeavor Behavioral Institute, one of the key focus areas of our Adolescent Program is helping clients build and maintain independent living and everyday life skills. As our clients grow, so does our commitment to preparing them for life beyond the clinic, which is truly at the heart of the work we do.

One way we support this is through our Adolescent Cooking Program. Each month, clients work toward preparing a meal by breaking the process into a four-week learning experience that allows them to build confidence and practical skills step by step. 👩‍🍳

Here’s how the monthly process works:

🔹 Week 1: Kitchen Safety
Clients learn important safety rules and how to navigate the kitchen environment safely.

🔹 Week 2: Kitchen Utensils
Clients are introduced to common kitchen tools and practice identifying and using them correctly.

🔹 Week 3: Reading Recipes
Clients practice reading and understanding recipes, identifying ingredients, and following step-by-step instructions.

🔹 Week 4: Putting It All Together
Clients bring everything they’ve learned together by preparing the meal as a group, practicing sequencing, teamwork, and independence.

🌮 This month’s meal was tacos! From learning the tools to following the recipe and preparing the meal, clients had the opportunity to practice real-life skills in a supportive and structured environment.

Programs like this reflect EBI’s continued commitment to serving and supporting our older clients, helping them develop the practical life skills needed to navigate everyday responsibilities with greater independence and confidence. Preparing our adolescents for life beyond the clinic is a meaningful part of why we do what we do. 💙

🤠🐮 Endeavor Takes on the Houston Rodeo! 🐴🌾

What a day! Our clients had an amazing time exploring the Houston Rodeo and getting hands-on with all things agriculture. From petting animals and learning about their care, to stepping into the role of a farmer, picking vegetables, gathering eggs, and even milking cows, this was such a fun and meaningful experience! 🥕🥚🐄

We also got to enjoy an incredible Charro performance, which was definitely a highlight of the day! 🐎

While the day was full of fun, it was also full of growth. Out in the community, our clients had the opportunity to practice real-life skills like navigating new environments, following directions in different settings, transitioning between activities, and building tolerance for busy, high-energy spaces. They also worked on communication, independence, and social engagement in a natural, supportive way.

These are the moments where learning really comes to life. Taking skills from the clinic and applying them in the real world. We are so proud of how our clients showed up, adapted, and engaged throughout the day! 💛

🌟 Happy 1-Year Endeavorsary, Zuric! 🌟

Today we’re celebrating Zuric and her first year with the Endeavor team! 🎊 Over the past year, Zuric has shown dedication in her role and a willingness to continue learning and growing along the way. Completing a full year in this field is a meaningful milestone, and we’re excited to recognize her today. 🙌

When asked about one thing that can instantly make her day better, Zuric shared that a good lunch always does the trick. 🍱🥗 Sometimes all you need is a good meal to recharge and get through the rest of the day!

As she looks ahead to her next year at EBI, Zuric shared that she wants to continue strengthening her technical skills and build higher fluency 📚✨ as she continues developing in her role.

Fun Facts about St. Patrick’s Day:

Who Was St. Patrick? St. Patrick was a missionary and the patron saint of Ireland. Born in Roman Britain in the 4th century, he was kidnapped by pirates at the age of 16 and taken to Ireland as a slave. He escaped, but later returned to Ireland to spread Christianity. He’s credited with converting the Irish to Christianity and is celebrated on March 17th, the anniversary of his death.

The Color Green: Green is a color deeply associated with Ireland, often referred to as the "Emerald Isle" because of its lush, green landscapes. Wearing green on St. Patrick’s Day is said to make you invisible to leprechauns, who would pinch anyone they could see!

The Pot of Gold: According to Irish folklore, leprechauns hide their pots of gold at the end of rainbows, but there’s a catch: rainbows are optical illusions, so you can never really get to the end! It’s a fun reminder that some things in life are more about the journey than the destination.

🌟 Happy 3-Year Endeavorsary, Laura! 🌟

Today we’re celebrating Laura and three years with the Endeavor team! Reaching this milestone reflects the time, dedication, and consistency she has brought during her time at EBI, and we’re glad to recognize and celebrate her today. 👏

When it comes to games, Laura shared that Chameleon is still her favorite board game 🎲, a perfect choice for anyone who enjoys a little strategy, laughter, and trying to figure out who the odd one out might be.

One highlight from this past year for Laura was our Crawfish Boil 🦞🎉. It was a great opportunity for the team to gather, enjoy some amazing food, and spend time together outside of the usual clinic routine.

Outside of work, Laura enjoys running 🏃‍♀️ as her go-to form of exercise. It’s a great way to stay active, clear your mind, and keep moving.

Today we’re celebrating Nessa’s first year as our Operations Manager at Endeavor. Over the past year, she has had the opportunity to learn, grow, and support the day-to-day operations that help our clinic serve families and staff effectively. Nessa is grateful to be part of a team that values collaboration, consistency, and top-quality care.🤍

Since joining Endeavor, she has enjoyed getting to know the staff and families and contributing wherever support is needed. She looks forward to continuing to support Endeavor’s growth and success while helping maintain the high standard of care EBI provides. 🌱

As she looks ahead to her next year at Endeavor, Nessa remains focused on learning, refining systems, and supporting the team in meaningful ways. Outside of work, she enjoys curling up with a good book 📚 and is a member of two book clubs. She also volunteers regularly through her church 🙏, reflecting her heart for service both personally and professionally.
