We have an urgent call to protect and restore Dogon Heritage & Land!

Ankhkasta Natural Healing (501c3) has a rare and urgent opportunity to secure 2.5 hectares (7 acres) of land in Fada N’Gourma, Burkina Faso for displaced Dogon elders, wisdom keepers, and community who have been forced from their ancestral lands in Tambiga and Morodeni.

For years, these guardians of ancient knowledge have been pushed from their ancestral sacred lands into cities by foreign agents seeking to exploit the region’s rich soil and resources. In exile, they have been unable to practice their generational expertise in sustainable indigenous farming—corn, millet, cassava, cotton—or maintain the sacred traditions and spiritual practices that have guided humanity for centuries.

These elders are not only protectors of wisdom for their own villages, they are pillars of the cultural life for the region and beyond. The land we aim to secure lies within the Gulmu Kingship, making it a cultural stronghold for multiple indigenous communities. Its temples and farmlands sustain traditional governance, spiritual ceremonies, and agricultural systems that countless people both locally and globally, depend on. Those who have benefited from Dogon wisdom through Ankhkasta’s teachings, products, and services are directly connected to this land. Without its restoration and security, the very source of that knowledge is at risk.
