For CHRISTUS Healthy Living Mobile Clinics, the goal of herd immunity in student vaccinations can be a long, but inspiring road. Since the partnership with Houston Independent School District and the Harris Health Department began a year ago, the Mobile Clinics are seeing the fruits of their labor. This past December at CHRISTUS Our Daily Bread was unusually busy in helping clients secure housing or return home. With nowhere to go, a patient was dropped off from the local hospital at Our Daily Bread. “It was the end of business, and we knew we couldn’t put him out on the streets,” said Johnathen Vallery, Our Daily Bread’s client navigator. Click the link to learn about how Vallery helped this patient secure housing.

The 22nd Annual Spring Luncheon set a new fundraising record. Attendees came together in support of CHRISTUS St. Mary’s Clinic and CHRISTUS Healthy Living Mobile Clinics and helped raise $397,000 to advance reliable, integrated and accessible care for those who need it most. Gratitude extends to our co-chairs Reagan Fibbe, Emily Harris and Lindsey Harris, M.D., who hosted a meaningful afternoon that reflected the personal impact of this mission. Sean Pendergast of SportsRadio 610 led a compelling conversation with Sisters Hannah O’Donoghue, Celeste Trahan and Rosanne Popp, M.D., whose stories brought the Foundation’s legacy and purpose to life. An invocation by Archbishop Joe S. Vasquez grounded the program in faith and service. Also honored were our four Legacy Award recipients for their more than 20 years of service: Laura Clay, R.N.; Sr. Theresa Kelleher, R.N.; Sr. Rosanne Popp, M.D.; and Lori Varela. Their compassion and commitment define the spirit of this work.

For CHRISTUS Point of Light Clinic, treating patients with chronic conditions is a major focus of care. Robert*, a 41-year-old patient, came to the clinic feeling very ill. “His blood sugar was so high, I considered sending him to the ER,” said nurse practitioner Elizabeth Ryan. “He had no insurance and was very financially limited.” Click the link to read about how Ryan kept Robert out of the ER.
