Real raw caption time. Real talk
M-O-M-M-A💛🌻

“I already knew I had to be induced.”

That’s what I told my new doctor…
because that’s what I had been told before.

Forceps delivery.
Small pelvis.
Induce early.

So when I hit 37 weeks, we scheduled it.
Called my mom and them.
Everybody showed up.

I just knew I was walking in pregnant
and leaving with my baby.

Hours went by… nothing.

Doctor came in and said,
“Your body isn’t responding… it’s too early.”

Y’all… I cried all the way home.

Because in my mind,
this was already supposed to be the process.

I had been there.
Done that.
Trusted what I was told.

But my body said… not yet.

MOMMA, just because it happened before
does NOT mean it has to happen again.

Your body is not on repeat.
Your pregnancy is not a copy and paste.

And sometimes…

“I’m pregnant and tired”
isn’t just a feeling,

it’s your body asking you to slow down.

A story I haven’t been able to stop thinking about.

She did everything right. Classes, birth plan, doula. She knew what she wanted: a vaginal birth.

Her induction was scheduled two weeks before her estimated birthing time. Not because her body was ready. Because her doctor needed to be on call to be there.

Her labor took three days. She never got her vaginal birth. She ended up with a C-section. And afterward her doctor said: “We should have just had the C-section to begin with.”

There are medically necessary inductions and they save lives. That is not what this is about.

This is about knowing that you are allowed to ask questions before you agree to a timeline. Why is this date being chosen? Whose schedule is this actually serving? What happens if we wait?

You are allowed to ask. And you deserve a real answer.

Save this if you have an induction scheduled. And share it with a momma who needs to hear it. Got questions?

Hey doulas đź’›

I want to speak directly to those of you who feel confident in your ability to support births… but are still figuring out how to build a business around your work.

Because the truth is, being a skilled doula and running a profitable doula business are two different things.

One is about how you show up for your clients.
The other is about how you position yourself, communicate your value, and consistently get booked and paid.

And I’ve seen so many talented doulas stay stuck in that gap… not because they aren’t capable, but because no one really taught them the business side of this work.

That’s exactly why I created the Doula CEO Kickstarter Kit.

It’s a simple, practical way to help you get clear on your niche, structure your offer, and start building a business that actually supports you, not just your clients.

If you’re ready to take your doula work seriously as a business and not just a calling, this is for you

👉 Feel free to message me if you’d like the direct link to the downloadable kit or have any questions, I got you 💛🌻

My first birth after my 500 hour doula training… I’ll never forget it.

I was new in my career, but eager, focused, and determined.

Momma was laboring on the birth ball, breathing through each contraction while I supported her, massaging, guiding, staying present.

The doctor kept coming in, questioning…
“Y’all still doing this?”

But we stayed the course.

Momma trusted her body.
I trusted the work.

And when she said, “I feel pressure…”
She was 10 cm.

Moments later, she birthed a beautiful, healthy baby boy đź’™

That moment reminded me…
This work is powerful.
This work is necessary.

And I’m so grateful to be called to it. 💛

I have heard this said to mommas who deserved so much better than a closed door.

“Once a C-section, always a C-section.”

A VBAC, which is a vaginal birth after cesarean, is possible. Not for every situation, and your specific circumstances always need a real conversation with a provider you trust. But the automatic assumption that it cannot happen? That is not the full picture.

My very first birth as a doula on my own was a VBAC that the provider said would never happen. I have been double-certified as a VBAC specialist for years. I have sat with mommas who were told no and helped them ask better questions and find better support.

You are allowed to want something different. You are allowed to ask.

Save this if this is your story, or if you know someone carrying this question right now. Got questions?

“You look like my next dream client.”

And I mean that…

🌻Teachers
🌻Mommas navigating maternity leave
🌻Women ready to build new income streams and new possibilities

Because let’s be real…

Unpaid maternity leave is a conversation we’re not having enough.

Too many women are expected to rest, recover, and care for a newborn…
while also trying to figure out how they’re going to stay financially afloat.

That’s not sustainable.
And it’s not something you should have to figure out alone.

That’s exactly why I’m hosting the Million Dollar Action Workshop.

This is for the woman who is ready to:
✔️Think differently about money
Build income outside of a 9 to 5
âś” Create new possibilities during maternity leave and beyond

Houston, I’m bringing this experience in person!!!

If this sounds like you… or someone you know…
send this to her.

Comment “WORKSHOP” and I’ll send you the details 🌻💛

Most doulas who leave the profession in their first year don’t leave because they weren’t good at the work. They leave because nobody gave them what actually makes this sustainable.

After 15 years in this profession, here is what I know separates doulas who last from doulas who quit.

Foundation. Not just a certification, but real preparation. The hours, the shadowing, the experience that makes you trust yourself in the room.

Purpose. Knowing exactly who you are called to serve and why. When you try to serve everybody, you end up not fully serving anyone.

Structure. Systems and boundaries around your work that make it possible to keep showing up. Without structure, the work will take everything you have. And it will take it fast.

If you are a doula who is struggling right now, look at these three honestly. The work you do is too important for you to burn out before you find your stride.

Save this. And share it with a doula who needs it. Got questions?

Reel raw caption time… real talk M-O-M-M-A.

The fear of pushing is real.

I remember being in labor with my first baby…
and everything in me shut down.

He got stuck.
The doctor pulled out forceps.
And I froze.

I literally tried to close my legs.
I was scared to death.

I screamed as they told me they had to assist…
and in that moment, I felt completely out of control.

And now I think back…

What would that moment have looked like
if I had a doula by my side?

Someone to ground me.
Coach me through the fear.
Remind me my body was built for this.

Because sometimes it’s not that mommas don’t want to push…
they’re just scared.

And that fear deserves support too.

03/25/2026

She was 10 centimeters dilated and she refused to push.

Not because she was being difficult. Because the last time she pushed, she birthed a stillborn baby. And her whole body was bracing for the same thing.

This is a story I carry with me. Because it taught me something that no training can fully prepare you for: sometimes the most important thing a doula does has nothing to do with the physical birth at all.

It is showing up for the moment when a momma’s body knows exactly what to do, and her heart is too afraid to let it.

Within 30 minutes of asking the doctor to step out, loving on her, letting her hear his heartbeat, and reminding her that this was a different day, her baby was born. Alive. And she breastfed him for the first time.

If you’ve ever wondered what a doula actually does in that room, this is it. Got questions?
