Let me tell you, Momma. I thought the crick in my neck and the sleepless nights were just motherhood. Heck, even aging?! Turns out, they were warnings.

I used to call yoga or massage a “treat.”

Like something I only earned if I had hustled hard enough or if everything else on my list was done.

But here’s the truth: they weren’t indulgences... They were maintenance.

Like plugging in your phone before it dies, I had to learn to recharge before my whole system crashed.

The guilt didn’t disappear overnight.

I had to unlearn what I’d been told: that caring for myself was extra, or even selfish.

The shift came when I started seeing self-care not as luxury, but as survival. Because here’s the reality — when your battery runs out, so does your ability to show up for your family, your business, and your own dreams.

Now, I protect my recharge time like I protect my kids’ meals or bedtime routines. Because when I’m restored, they get the best of me — not the leftovers.

💭 What’s one thing you keep labeling as “indulgent” when it’s actually keeping you alive and well?

SCENE: You’re a younger momma telling the wise and beautiful elder momma in your community about how you haven’t cried since giving birth. That you can’t afford to break down.

This is what I would tell you. 🌻

Hi Momma! This is Momma Sasha, founder of the Ask Momma First Community.

I’ve heard lots of moms say, in my doula practice and in the talkity talk amongst us women, that most women do not have a village to raise their children in. Let alone a village that supports them in their new identity as a mother! And I’m here to change that.

Don’t have a village of your own? I’m building one just for you – Ask Momma First is coming soon. Get updates by joining the waitlist. 💛

If I had a do-over as a mom, I would plan my next level instead of waiting (and waiting, and waiting and waiting) for it to happen.

You know the feeling…

You’re just laying around, thinking, maybe even planning and writing stuff down…

and leave it.

And you don’t come back to it.

“Because life happens, Momma!”

Yes, life happens. Your kids grow up. Your relationships change.

And your ideas and passions? They kinda just… sit there. By the wayside. Like a bookmark on a page you SWEAR you’ll come back to later.

Sounds familiar?

All those wisha coulda woulda coulda, they won’t come back. There ain’t no time machine for that yet!

But what if your wisha coulda woulda was RIGHT NOW?

That’s what I can help you with, momma.

You don’t have to wait until your kids are grown grown for you to be where you want to be sooner, rather than later in the unforeseeable future.

Listen, Momma…

Your business and family deserve the version of you who’s clear, energized, and leading with vision.

That’s why I created this VIP Day — a full-day private coaching retreat for go-getter moms who are ready to get unstuck and level up.

Step away from the noise, step into clarity, and leave with a plan you can’t wait to execute.

They won’t always say it out loud but every Momma I’ve worked with — from fresh postpartum to 5+ years in — has felt this.

Some are still healing from birth while juggling toddler tantrums.
Some are back at work while carrying the invisible load of every family schedule, meal, and meltdown.
Some are building dreams while parenting solo, partnered, or in-between.

But across the board?

There’s one truth they wish their partners, friends, even their own mamas understood:

They’re not serving you a plate of attitude; they’re overloaded.
They’re not distancing themselves or spacing out... they’re depleted.

So if you love a Momma, swipe right until the end.

If you’ve got a Momma in your life, send this to them.

And if you’re a Momma, girl – I see you. 💛 You’ve got a Momma right here cheering you on.

To the Mommas who’d love a village – I’ve got something for you.

Want to be in a space where you don’t have to explain your strength or your softness?

We’re building that village at Ask Momma First. Opening soon.

I didn’t realize that one hour for myself in the morning could change my entire household. Here’s how a YMCA spin class taught me to be a better mom.

Back then, I used to think that any time I took away from my kids made me a bad mother.

The guilt was loud!

But when I finally carved out that one hour to move my body, listen to music, and sweat with other women, something shifted.

That spin class gave me back my energy before the day began.

I came home fueled up — calmer, more present, and way more patient. My kids felt it. My home felt it. Even the mornings felt smoother because I was starting from a place of fullness instead of depletion. 🌻

Here’s the truth: your kids don’t need a martyr.

➡️ They need a mom who’s whole.

When you show up for yourself first — with rest, clarity, and joy — you lead your household differently.

You’re not just surviving motherhood, you’re modeling wholeness and showing your family what it looks like to thrive.

Meeting your needs first isn’t selfish, Momma. It’s leadership. 💛

💭 Momma, what’s one small way you can pour into yourself this week — so you can show up for your family from a place of wholeness, not burnout?

If I had a do-over as a mom, I would take my gifts and talents more seriously to start making more money sooner (instead of chasing what everyone says is hot or trendy!)

Take it from me — I became a SAHM so I can be with my babies so I started a cheesecake business because baking was what was hot back then.

You know what happened?

I was DREADING baking.

Don’t get me wrong, I make a meaaaan chessecake!

But momma, my heart wasn’t in it. I was waiting for my kids to go to bed before I even dragged my feet to the kitchen and baked!

And I kept shushing myself…

I kept telling myself that I just had to push through it.

And I can imagine the Lord saying, “Sasha! If you’re not gonna listen to the small signs, then here’s a big sign you won’t even be able to deny!”

My car got t-boned.

I stayed up all night baking these four cheesecakes and as I was going on my delivery, I was in a full-on freak accident at a crossing section.

MY CAR GOT T-BONED, MOMMA! FOR REALS!

It was so scary. I could’ve died! But what was removed from my life, which absolutely felt big and drastic at the time was the freedom of my being a SAHM. Because I lost the four cakes, I also lost the income, the time, and the momentum.

And thank God this time, I listened. I took a look at MY GIFTS.

And that changed everything. 💛

Momma, you weren’t meant to struggle through motherhood while worrying about money.

Inside Maternity to Millions, I offer 1:1 coaching to help Black and Brown moms build income and freedom — without sacrificing their peace or presence.
