Tired eyes? You might just need a break! 😴
Long days, bright screens, and late nights can all take a toll on your eyes. Here’s how to rest and refresh them:

💧 Blink often to prevent dryness
💻 Limit screen time before bed
🌙 Get enough sleep — your eyes repair overnight

A little rest goes a long way toward keeping your eyes comfortable and your vision sharp!

Halloween is almost here! 👻 Costumes and makeup can be fun, but those spooky colored contacts might not be as harmless as they look.

Did you know all contact lenses — even decorative ones — require a prescription in the U.S.?

Buying them from a costume shop or unverified online seller can expose you to serious risks like eye pain, infections, and even permanent vision loss.

Pro Tip: If you want to add contacts to your costume, talk to your eye doctor first. Safe eyes = a safe Halloween!

Dry eyes? You’re not alone!

Many of us experience dryness and irritation from everyday habits like blinking less while staring at screens, spending long hours on computers or phones, and even being in air-conditioned or heated environments. Over time, these factors can make your eyes uncomfortable, red, or blurry.

Staying hydrated, taking regular screen breaks, and using artificial tears can help, but persistent dry eye may signal an underlying issue that deserves attention. 👁️
Don’t wait — schedule an eye exam with us to find the cause and get relief for healthier, more comfortable eyes!

Dr. Richard Nguyen and the entire Eye Center of Houston team are excited to introduce the newest member of our eye care family — Dr. Gabrielle Hinton!

Gabrielle Hinton, O.D., received her Doctor of Optometry from Nova Southeastern University College of Optometry, graduating with Highest Honors in 2023, and earned her Bachelor of Arts in Biochemistry from Colorado College in Colorado Springs in 2015. Originally from Vero Beach, Florida, Dr. Hinton graduated in the top 1% of her high school class with a strong aptitude for math and science. She discovered her passion for optometry during a summer job at a local clinic, where she learned every aspect of the profession—from pre-screening and insurance billing to sales, inventory management, and lens surfacing. After six years there, she was inspired to pursue optometry school to take on the final role: providing patient care.

While at Nova Southeastern University, Dr. Hinton trained at the renowned Bascom Palmer Eye Institute in Miami, the nation’s top-ranked ophthalmology hospital. There, she developed a special interest in scleral lenses, particularly for treating dry eye and other ocular surface diseases.

Following graduation, she returned to the clinic where her career began, providing comprehensive eye care to her home community. In May 2025, she relocated to Houston, Texas, to join her fiancé and the AEG team, where she offers compassionate, comprehensive eye care to patients of all ages.

Now Accepting Appointments
Whether you’re due for an eye exam or have questions about your vision, Dr. Hinton is here to provide expert care tailored to your needs.

Book your appointment today to experience Dr. Hinton’s compassionate and personalized care.
