At Elemental Birth & Wellness, we believe true support isn’t about choosing between the clinical and the holistic. It’s about expertly blending them.

We are a practice rooted in evidence-based care, licensed knowledge, and medical science, but one that also deeply honors the body’s innate wisdom, nature’s rhythms, and ancient healing arts.

Evidence-based care (like my background as a LMT and my journey to becoming an RN, and eventually a CNM).

Embodied wisdom (holistic practices from my doula and educator experience).

You don’t have to leave a part of yourself at the door. You deserve a comprehensive, integrated approach to your reproductive journey and wellness.

According to Almanac.com;

“Though nobody can be sure of when a baby will be born, some Moon lore suggests that births are more likely to occur 7 days before through 7 days after a Full Moon.
In fact, many cultures believe that the full Moon’s pull on a woman’s amniotic fluids increases the chances of giving birth at this time.
Some nurses and midwives claim the new Moon is also an active time for births.”

The full moon hits its peak tomorrow, November 5th.

Are you expecting an arrival from your little one?!

We previously mentioned that September is full of campaigns that bring awareness to some serious causes that you can help spread the word about. Another is Gynecological Cancers. According to Ovarian Cancer Research Alliance (ocrahope.org)
“Gynecologic cancers affect the reproductive organs, including the uterus, ovaries, cervix, va**na, and v***a. In the U.S., about 100,000 women are diagnosed with a gynecologic cancer in 2025. Understanding the risks, recognizing early symptoms, and getting regular screenings can make a critical difference in treatment and recovery. Gynecologic cancers are not all the same. Each type begins in a different part of the reproductive system and has distinct signs, risk factors, and treatment approaches.“

September is full of campaigns to bring your attention to serious causes that you can help spread the word about. We are beginning with Newborn Screening Awareness.

According to https://www.nichd.nih.gov/ “Newborns are screened for at least 29 conditions within the first few days after birth. Ten states test for 50 or more conditions. Using a few drops of blood, newborn screening detects a treatable condition in about 1 in 300 babies born each year, a total of about 12,500 cases each year.”

These conditions are not noticeable at the time of birth, but that can cause serious disability or even death if not treated quickly. Infants with these conditions may seem perfectly healthy and frequently come from families with no previous history of a condition.

Early detection and treatment has made it possible to virtually eliminate many of these conditions as factors in child development, or drastically reduce or minimize their impacts on growth.

It’s the first of September. Some people believe that the first of every month is a great time to affirm that their finances and abundance will be plentiful by blowing cinnamon through the front door.

They gather cinnamon, pour some into their hand and step outside. They turn towards their front door and blow the cinnamon off their hand, over and through the threshold into their home. The next day they sweep it up and return it to the earth.

Have you ever done something similar?

“THROUGH THE DOORWAY , CINNAMON I BLOW , A SPELL OF ABUNDANCE , TO LET MONEY FLOW . THROUGH THE FRONT DOORWAY , THE ENERGY IS SENT , FINANCIAL ABUNDANCE , MY INTENT .
CINNAMON’S MAGIC BRINGS WEALTH ΤΟ ΜΕ .”

Our Story

How it Started

Mother Nurturing, LLC was started in 2012 as Mothering Nature Birth Services. The name was intended to capture the personality of the founder Erin Young. Whimsical, nurturing, and grounded. Through the years, as Erin began adding on different services, the name was changed to represent the true nature of the business; Nurturing Mothers and families as they grow, expand and change.

In April of 2018, Mother Nurturing underwent a major rebranding to expand the services offered with the help of a team of professionally trained doulas, childbirth educators, placenta processors and licensed massage therapists. Houston Birth & Baby was launched after countless hours of planning and coordinating. This would not have been possible without the help, guidance and instrumental work of Tiffany DePute, and we are so grateful!
