The hot stone abdominal press. It’s something I have used in my postpartum practice for several years- but I haven’t really shared much about it.

Some of the benefits are as follows:

Aids Digestion and Relieves Constipation: Heat applied to the abdomen can help stimulate the digestive system and ease issues like constipation.

Expels Trapped Air: The warmth and gentle pressure can help release trapped gas and air from the abdominal area.

Postpartum Healing: In some traditional practices, it’s used after childbirth to help the womb return to its normal size faster, warm and nourish the “womb space,” and break up residual blood clots to speed healing (note: should not be used after a C-section without a doctor’s approval).

Releases Organ Tension: The warmth can help release physical and emotional tension in the abdominal organs and promote better function.

If this is something you’re interested in experiencing during your postpartum healing- let’s connect!
I’m happy to provide this as an add on service to your postpartum massage.

The day after Christmas, I went back to my clients home for another couple of sessions for their visiting family. They had bought the sessions as gifts, and their family loved it!

Although this holiday season has been a warm one here in Houston, it’s always exciting being able to change up the vibes next to a pool!

are some of my favorites- book yours soon!

I loaded up my supplies and headed to a clients home for a 90 minute prenatal session and a 60 minute Swedish session for her partner. It was a beautiful poolside experience on this unseasonably warm . I wish I had gotten a picture of the setup!

Our Story

How it Started

Mother Nurturing, LLC was started in 2012 as Mothering Nature Birth Services. The name was intended to capture the personality of the founder Erin Young. Whimsical, nurturing, and grounded. Through the years, as Erin began adding on different services, the name was changed to represent the true nature of the business; Nurturing Mothers and families as they grow, expand and change.

In April of 2018, Mother Nurturing underwent a major rebranding to expand the services offered with the help of a team of professionally trained doulas, childbirth educators, placenta processors and licensed massage therapists. Houston Birth & Baby was launched after countless hours of planning and coordinating. This would not have been possible without the help, guidance and instrumental work of Tiffany DePute, and we are so grateful!
