This is why I do what I do. 71M who was in a car accident in his 20s and broke his femur. Over the past 15-20 years his knee pain got worse and worse and his knee "locked up on him" about 7 years ago. It can be seen that it's nearly fused. He is now 3 months out with no pain and motion from 0-100 degrees (more than I expected). Given his altered anatomy I decided to do a robot-assisted total knee on him. Surgery was complicated but the results were good.

Case of the week! 51M who I did THA one year prior. Was doing well a year out with no complaints. During a night of revelry, fell off the porch in a state of inebriation. Sustained a periprosthetic femur fracture.

In this case, the implant remained very stable within the proximal femur so the decision was made to fix the fracture and not revise the implant.
