It all started as a dream. It started as an inspiration to bring people together.
When Andrea and Taraney first met they had no idea what their connection had to offer. They had no idea that a simple thought would change peoples’ lives.
In May of 2017 Andrea and Taraney had a brief conversation about wanting to bring the healers of Houston together so that maybe we can all begin the shift that is needed.
If you live in Houston, you know that sometimes it can be pretty dense. This city is ran off the oil industry which fuels many of its citizens income, while also fueling the amount of pollution in our air. Poverty is everywhere, and people are yearning for a space to just feel safe and let go of the day-to-day worries. Houston needs its beauty to be shown. The city needs something new.
After this conversation, everything fell into place, and they initiated the first Houston Healing Circles Sound Bath and Guided Mediation. Promoting it and getting people excited came naturally because the Houston spiritual community has been craving this for years. Andrea and Taraney only expected about 25 people to come at most, but the universe had different plans. The first healing circle was filled with 75 beautiful people who were ready to heal and create the shift our city needs.
People from all walks of life came together to heal. No specific religions, races, or lifestyles mattered to the people. We have had veterans, tree huggers, businessmen, musicians, and even children join us. It is a universal community, and it’s open to anyone who is ready to bring positivity to the table.
Since this first healing circle, we have doubled the amount of people who attend and therefore doubling our impact. Once a month we come together for these donation-based events including vendors, artists, dancers, and a sacred, sound bath meditation. Through the use of music, we bring people into a centered meditative state and heal them with our words. Each meditation is different, but the focus is always to heal ourselves so that we can heal the world. Every event is on a new moon or full moon to make sure that the timing is right!
Houston Healing Circles has evolved into a nonprofit that focuses on creating a healing space for people within the city. Not only do we raise the energetic frequency of Houston, but also we are focused on its quality of life.
We have big plans to indicate city wide clean ups, school supplies drives, food potlucks, and even volunteer crews. We put our heart into everything we do, and we are so thankful to see others doing the same.
