I came to JSJ Acupressure seeking relief from relentless neck pain and headaches. After just one session, the pain eased and I experienced a depth of relaxation I had never felt before, similar to how many people report profound calm and reduced stress with Jin Shin Jyutsu sessions. At that point, I had no idea that Jin Shin Jyutsu could support other areas of my health.
Without ever mentioning it to Kathleen, I was also living with tumors in my thyroid and lungs. I simply kept coming for sessions and, over time, began learning more about this gentle art. I started practicing self-help more consistently, using simple hand and finger holds and basic flows at home, just as many teachers recommend as a way to continue the healing process between sessions.
Gradually I discovered that Jin Shin Jyutsu is not just for symptom relief; it harmonizes the whole being—body, mind, and spirit—by supporting the body’s natural energy pathways and self-healing capacity. As I experienced this, I felt as if my entire system was being supported, not just one problem area.
During a training, I started to focus more specifically on my tumors, especially the thyroid, which had been the most active area on my PET scan. Jin Shin Jyutsu is often used alongside medical care in this way, to ease pain, support relaxation, and help the body cope with serious conditions and treatments. I continued all of my medical monitoring while receiving regular JSJ sessions and practicing self-help.
At my most recent ultrasound this week, the thyroid tumor had shrunk and my calcium levels were lower. This change reduced my physician’s level of concern from a level 5 to a level 4, and surgery is no longer recommended at this time; instead, we will continue to monitor my condition closely, which is in line with how complementary therapies are often integrated with conventional follow‑up care. While I understand that no single therapy can claim sole credit for these changes, I can clearly feel the difference Jin Shin Jyutsu has made in my daily life.
I am deeply grateful to God for leading me to this path, as Jin Shin Jyutsu has given me a fuller, calmer, and more hopeful life. Kathleen is a kind, compassionate human being and a gifted practitioner whose steady, caring presence has supported me through every step of this journey.
