💚 Wellness Wednesday | Body Wellness Week 💚

At Summerhouse Houston, body wellness is about movement, nourishment, and joy — and it’s woven into our everyday routines.

Our members have the opportunity to participate in weekly dance classes, boxing classes, and fitness & weight-training sessions, supporting strength, coordination, and confidence. Each member also carries a labeled water bottle while out in the community because staying hydrated matters — especially when you’re on the move!

And yes… dancing absolutely counts as wellness. 💃🕺
Every afternoon when members return to Summerhouse, you’ll find music playing, YouTube dance videos up on the big screen, and members learning the latest moves together in our general gathering space.

We’re also mindful when it comes to meals. While members enjoy eating out in the community several times a week, they also spend two days a week in our kitchen, practicing cooking new recipes, building independence, and learning lifelong nutrition skills.

Movement. Music. Meals.
Body wellness at Summerhouse is about building healthy habits — and having fun while doing it. 🌱

We’re proud to introduce Career Launchpad, an in-person career exploration and job-readiness event hosted by Summerhouse Houston.

Career Launchpad is designed for adults with intellectual disabilities and autism and focuses on preparing job seekers for meaningful employment through:
-Professional networking opportunities
-Resume and interview workshops
-Employer panels and success stories
-Skill-building activities in a supportive, employment-focused environment

This event brings together job seekers, families, educators, job coaches, supported employment professionals, and inclusive employers—all with a shared goal: expanding access to employment and building stronger, more inclusive workplaces.

Taking care of our members’ minds is a daily priority at Summerhouse Houston. 💚
Our DSPs guide members through mindful breathing, positive self-talk, coping skills, and stress relief — not just in structured moments, but throughout the day. These practices are reinforced during volunteer work, new outings in the community, and while building life skills at Summerhouse.

Our Family Fiesta Social & Celebration is open to the entire community—friends, families, neighbors, supporters, and anyone who loves Summerhouse. Come mingle, laugh, dance, and celebrate together with us!

✨ $50 per person includes:
