Brazos Towers Residents search for treasures at The Cottage Shop in Montrose. The Cottage Shop has been a Houston treasure in the Montrose area since 1971. This one-of-a-kind resale boutique is owned and operated by The Women’s Home, which means that 100% of sales contribute to the mission of building communities that strengthen women and support families as they reclaim their stability. Brazos Towers Residents love doing good AND looking good!

Brazos Towers Residents wrapped up spooky season with an open-air bus tour of Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery on Mister McKinney's History Bus! Founded in 1922, the Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery is 314 acres —the second-largest in the country! Residents had an enlightening experience, learning all about the notable burials and the surrounding land from Mr. McKinney. Now on to celebrating Thanksgiving!

Brazos Towers Residents celebrated the 102nd birthday of resident Ruth K! Violinist Zachary Montasser made a special appearance for the party, performing live renditions of great orchestral works. Residents sang Happy Birthday to the special lady, celebrating all 102 years of her life. Here's to many more happy and healthy years at Brazos Towers!

Brazos Towers residents recently enjoyed a delightful dining experience at Ouisie's Table, a River Oaks institution since 1973. Owner Elouise Adams has crafted an imaginative menu that reflects her born-in-Texas palate, the Gulf Coast, her grandmother's elegant Louisiana cooking, and her own "Southern foods and eclectic tendencies." With dishes like Gulf crab cakes, shrimp and grits, and New Orleans blackened red snapper, Brazos Tower residents had a refreshing taste of our regional cuisine. It’s outings like this that give our residents the opportunity to stay engaged, get out and about, and enjoy all the great restaurants Houston is famous for! Good food, good friends, good times! Brazos Tower Residents took a trip to the Brookwood Community outside of Houston for some dining and shopping! They provide an educational environment that creates meaningful work, builds a sense of belonging, and awakens a genuine purpose in the lives of adults with disabilities. Both the Gift and Garden Center and the Cafe support the community's mission, with staff comprised of community members. It was a lovely day supporting a fantastic mission and community! Outings like this are one of the reasons why Brazos Towers has won the Best of the Best in Retirement Homes for six straight years.
