The wait is finally over! We are so excited to announce that our first Painted Lady butterfly has officially emerged from its chrysalis. Watching this transformation from tiny, hungry caterpillar to this winged beauty has been such an incredible journey.
There is something so rewarding about witnessing the "quiet" part of the process—the patience it takes for them to change inside those cocoons—and seeing it all pay off. We still have a few more friends waiting to make their debut, so stay tuned for more updates!
Fun Fact for the Kids:
Did you know that when a butterfly first comes out, its wings are soft and crumpled? They have to pump fluid into them to get them ready for their very first flight!

Our journey with our Painted Lady caterpillars has reached a major milestone! As you can see, they have officially moved into the chrysalis stage.
It’s a delicate and exciting time! We’ve just moved them from their growing cups into their large mesh habitat. This "hanging out" phase is where the real magic happens behind the scenes. Soon we’ll have butterflies ready to spread their wings!

Our C Positive caterpillars haven't just been eating; they’ve been growing at warp speed! If you saw them when they first arrived, you wouldn't believe they are the same tiny creatures.
This incredible journey is all thanks to a process called moulting, where they actually outgrow and shed their old exoskeletons.
They’ve officially made it to the next big milestone! Check out that perfect "J-shape" at the top of the habitat. This unique posture means they are preparing for their final moult, where they will transform into a hard chrysalis (also called pupating). Stay tuned, the next phase is pure magic!

At C Positive ABA, we know that good nutrition is a building block for success. This National Nutrition Month, we are celebrating the small wins in Food Therapy:
✅ Touching a broccoli "tree" for the first time.
✅ Tolerating a new texture on the plate.
✅ Sitting at the table for a full family meal.
Quick Fact: Food therapy in an ABA setting uses positive reinforcement to turn "scary" foods into "safe" foods. By breaking the process down into tiny, achievable steps, we reduce mealtime soul-crushing battles and increase nutritional intake.

Our caterpillars are officially twice the size they were on Friday. They are working hard, growing fast, and getting ready for their big transformation. It’s been such a joy to watch this process unfold in real-time.

And so it begins! 🐛 Our baby caterpillars arrived today and we are officially on "Caterpillar Watch." 🕵️‍♂️
Kicked off our observation journals today to track these little guys as they grow.
Right now, they are incredibly small, but we’re guessing they’ll double in size faster than we think! What’s your guess—how many days until they start making their cocoons?
I’ll be sharing pictures every few days to show their progress. Grow, little guys, grow!

Struggling with transitions or getting your little one to follow a direction? At C Positive ABA, we love the "First/Then" strategy because it’s simple, predictable, and it works!
What is it?
It’s a way to help your child understand the relationship between a required task and a rewarding activity. It shifts the focus from the "demand" to the "reward."
How to use it:
FIRST: State the task you want them to complete (the less-preferred activity).
THEN: State the fun thing that happens immediately after (the highly-preferred activity).
Example: "First shoes, then the park!" or "First toys in the bin, then your snack!"
Why it helps:
Reduces Anxiety: It creates a clear "finish line" for the task.
Builds Motivation: It reminds them that something good is coming.
Encourages Cooperation: It replaces "No" and "Don't" with a positive plan.
