After a rainy Saturday, we have some great news: the weather forecast for tomorrow is looking much better! 🌤️ We are keeping our hopes high for clear skies as we head into a very special Sunday in the community.
If you’re looking for a sensory-friendly way to get outdoors, the Houston Zoo is hosting its Autism Acceptance Day tomorrow, April 19! It’s designed to be a supportive, low-stress environment for our amazing kiddos and their families.
What to expect tomorrow:
Early Access: The gates open at 8:00 AM—one hour early—so you can enjoy the animals before the main crowds arrive.
Sensory Keeper Chats: Keepers will be sharing tactile items (like real feathers!) and showing off visual enrichment for the animals.
Quiet Zones: Designated "decompress" areas will be available if anyone needs a calm moment to recharge.
Wildlife Workshops: Fun, hands-on activities like making bird nest starters and prairie seed balls.
Sensory Kits: As always, the Zoo has sensory bags with headphones and fidgets available for checkout at the entrance.
We hope to see some of our C Positive families pictures enjoying the fresh air and the wildlife! Whether you’re heading to the Zoo or just relaxing at home, we wish you a joyful, peaceful Sunday. 💙
