Mission Statement
We honor our youth and their families for all of their unique differences and characteristics. We also respect each person for who they are by celebrating the importance of advocating for diversity inclusion and equity throughout our communities. Our Goal
Our goal is to bring all organizations and our communities together to walk and celebrate diversity and inclusion the first week in October “National Diversity Week” that will benefit saving one life at a time in our communities. We invite the entire community to take part in our walk helping to collect nonperishable food item for the Houston Food Bank that will feed the homeless that is growing rapidly in our communities. In addition, we will be collecting unwrapped toys for needy children ages 14 and under for the Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee’s 25th Annual Mega Christmas Party. Our Vision
We are committee to collaborating with different school districts, churches, businesses, corporations, sorority groups and partnering with the National Diversity Council, Texas Diversity Council, Communities in Schools (CIS), Texas Network of Youth Services (TNOYS), YMCA, Hogg Foundation, Transition Age Youth (TAY), Mental Health Agencies, TWC and other organizations to help connect our at-risk high school students with disabilities, their parents and family members with community resources through our Health and Wellness Resource Fair and they will live healthier lives. Community outreach is the key and it will help our families to understand the walk supports diversity education and awareness in our communities. We are “Stronger and Better” when we come together Advocating for Diversity Inclusion Equity.

A HUGE thank you to Dee, owner of Pepperoni’s, for opening his heart and his doors to us! 🙌🏾🍕

Because of his generosity and donation, our children were able to celebrate together after a powerful day of learning and empowerment. But it doesn’t stop there — his support helps us continue our mission of sending our youth to college and investing in their future.

When local businesses step up for our kids, the whole community wins.

Dee, we appreciate you more than words can say. Thank you for believing in our cause and our children. 💛

After a full day of empowerment, education, Black history, and FUN — our students ended it the best way possible… with pizza and big smiles! 🍕✨

Dr. Thelma Scott representing S.A.F.E. 4 Communities, Utticia Randolph representing Youth Enrichment, and Renee Johnson representing Tender Love & Care (The TLC Foundation) made sure our youth not only learned about their history — but felt loved, celebrated, and poured into.

This is what community looks like.
This is what investment in our children looks like.
Full hearts. Full minds. Full stomachs. 🖤

Today, we celebrate a KING. 👑
Happy Heavenly Birthday to Mr. Otis Scott.

Though he is no longer with us in this physical realm, his presence is felt in every lesson taught, every life touched, and every seed planted in love. His unwavering love, quiet strength, and steadfast respect for family built a foundation that still stands unshaken today.

Mr. Scott wasn’t just the head of his household — he was the heart. A man of integrity. A man of principle. A man whose example spoke louder than words ever could.

Today, his beautiful family celebrates not only the day he was born, but the legacy he left behind — a legacy of unity, growth, resilience, and purpose. The very way his family has grown, thrives, and continues to uplift the community is proof that his spirit is smiling proudly.

He, alongside the phenomenal Dr. Thelma Scott, represents the standing grounds of S.A.F.E. 4 Communities. Their vision, strength, and commitment to building stronger families and safer communities is not just work — it is legacy in motion.

We honor you today, Mr. Scott.
We celebrate you.
We thank you.
We carry you forward.

Your name is spoken with reverence.
Your impact is lived out daily.
Your spirit remains legendary.

Happy Heavenly Birthday to a true pillar, protector, and patriarch. 🕊️✨

Your legacy lives on.

Leader. Visionary. Revolutionary.

Malcolm X was a powerful advocate for Black empowerment, self-determination, and human rights. He challenged America to confront racism head-on and urged Black communities to take pride in their identity, history, and strength.

His voice sparked awareness, courage, and a movement rooted in dignity and justice.

“Education is the passport to the future, for tomorrow belongs to those who prepare for it today.”

Honoring his legacy of truth, power, and unapologetic Black pride. ✨

Black History Month Spotlight ✊🏾🖤 | Maya Angelou

Poet. Author. Activist. Icon.

Maya Angelou used her voice to tell the truth about Black life, resilience, and womanhood. Through works like I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings and poems like Still I Rise, she reminded us that no matter the struggle — we rise.

Her words continue to empower generations to stand tall, speak boldly, and walk in purpose.

“And still, like dust, I’ll rise.”

Celebrating her legacy today and always. ✨

Good morning family and friends! Everyday for the rest of black history month, we’ll be sharing insights on our Black Activists that are both here & no longer here to see the change that we are today! Today we’ll be sharing insight on the lovely Angela Davis—an American political activist, scholar, and author best known for her work in civil rights, prison abolition, feminism, and Black liberation movements.

Angela Davis remains an influential public intellectual and activist. She is widely respected in academic and activist circles for linking scholarship with grassroots organizing.

Celebrating Black History Month in powerful partnership and purpose! ✊🏾✨

So proud to honor the legacy, resilience, and excellence of Black leaders alongside my incredible high school students in the S.A.F.E. Communities program at Westfield High School. It was a meaningful experience to stand together with College & Career Counselor Dr. Clara Thompson and our valued community partner Renee Johnson of the TLC Foundation as we poured into the next generation.

These moments of connection, culture, and community remind us that Black history is not just something we study — it’s something we live, build, and carry forward every single day.

Honoring the incomparable Barbara Jordan this Black History Month — a true trailblazer whose courage, brilliance, and unwavering commitment to justice paved the way for generations to come. ✊🏾 Dr. Scott knew her well, standing alongside her in purpose and vision, and together they led the Barbara Jordan Endeavors before it evolved into what we now know as S.A.F.E. 4 Communities. Their shared dedication to advocacy, empowerment, and equity continues to shape the work we do today. As we celebrate Black History Month, we pay tribute to the powerful Black activists who are no longer with us physically, but whose legacies remain alive in our mission, our movement, and our communities. We stand on their shoulders — and we carry their vision forward.
