My wife often tells me, "Nick, you start your stories in the middle. I have no idea what you're talking about."
**sigh**
And yes she has a point.
The thing is when I have good news I sometimes forget to share the backstory. Yesterday I posted about ACA Plans but didn't fully clarify what they are.
ACA Plans, or Affordable Care Act Plans, are what some call Marketplace Plans or Obamacare Plans. These are great options for individuals who work but don't qualify for Medicaid due to their income.
If you have employer healthcare that's affordable, that might be your best option.
However, for those in retail, restaurants, temp positions in chemical plants, or similar jobs, ACA Plans are worth checking out.
Some plans can even be as low as $0 per month, depending on your income.
Right now, we're in the middle of the ACA Open Enrollment period, which ends on January 15th. Miss this deadline, and you'll need a Special Enrollment Period (SEP) to sign up later, which requires specific criteria like you recently moved to a different county or lost health coverage.
For professionals working in healthcare or even at a non-profit who see clients daily who need health coverage, I can help.
It takes just about 5 minutes to run their annual income and household size to see if they qualify for help with ACA Plans.
To find these health insurance plans, there are two options:
1. Visit TexasACAPlans.com, or
2. Call me at 281.870.3599, and I'll guide you or your clients through the process, step by step.
So to clarify, ACA plans are the healthcare plans that many times come with a government subsidy to help you pay for those monthly premiums. Some even include $0 premiums.

P.S. Around this time of year is when we see the "New Year, new me" posts on social media, and unlike some, I don't mind it.
It's the chance to set goals, strategize, and plot out the next 12 months of your life. Everyone should be doing this.
For me, the next 12 months I want to really focus on helping individuals with health insurance. Whether it's answering general questions, connecting individuals to Medicare, ACA Plans, or working with your organization's clients who need these services.
For those in healthcare or parents turning 65 consider this an open invitation to message or call me directly if you need help regarding anything Medicare in 2024.
