A few days ago we had the privilege of educating 7th-grade students at New Castle Middle School on the . Gratitude to LiVE Coalition for integrating the program into the curriculum. Shay Bex shared, "Because of you, students gained insight into how their decisions affect their well-being and gained tools for making safe choices. Collaborative efforts like these sow seeds of change and empower lives."

When we think about prevention, it’s easy to talk in numbers.
But at Medical Inflatables and through our Neuroscience of Addiction program, we remember:
Every statistic is a child. A life. A future.

CADCA just put out an urgent advocacy call — and it hits home.

Without full funding for prevention programs like the Drug-Free Communities initiative, we risk leaving thousands of students behind — without the tools they need to understand addiction risk before real-world pressures hit.

This funding isn't about politics. It's about protection. It's about hope.

💬 Question for my fellow educators, prevention specialists, and community leaders:
If you could guarantee ONE prevention initiative would survive no matter what funding cuts happen — which would you choose, and why?

I'd love to hear what’s closest to your heart. 💙

If you’re the one putting on health fairs, preventative screenings, or outreach events, you know the basics: get people in the door, provide useful services, and hope they leave better informed.

But, as it’s said, you can’t improve what you don’t measure. So how do you go beyond that, and track real-world impact that can help make your next event even better?

What's the real impact of your health event? Here are ways to go beyond attendance to track engagement, follow-ups, behavior change, and ROI.

It's National Drug and Alcohol Facts Week!

Talking to students about substance abuse can be challenging—but what if they could step inside a giant brain and SEE the effects for themselves?

That’s exactly what our Mega Substance Abuse Brain does. This walk-through inflatable brain is an unforgettable, interactive journey that visually demonstrates:

🚨 How drugs and alcohol disrupt brain function
🧩 Which areas of the brain control decision-making, memory, and emotions
⚡ Why teen brains are especially vulnerable to addiction
💡 How substance abuse can have long-term impacts on learning and mental health

Paired with an expert speaker and educational program, this experience doesn’t just tell students about the risks—it immerses them in the science behind brain health and addiction.

Why this matters:
✔️ 90% of people with a substance use disorder started using before age 18 (Source: National Center on Addiction and Substance Abuse)
✔️ The human brain doesn’t fully develop until about age 25, making young people more prone to risk-taking and addiction
✔️ Hands-on, visual learning leads to better retention and deeper engagement compared to traditional lectures

Substance abuse prevention starts with education—and the right tools make all the difference. Let’s bring this powerful learning experience to more schools and communities.
