We loved being a part of the Floresville 3rd Annual Diabetes Run/Walk!

A big thank you to the organizers, the mayor, city officials, and all the amazing vendors and partners who came out to support the Diabetes Community.

A special thank you to the Zamora Family for always showing up, supporting this community, and making events like this happen!

We’ll be gathering in a reserved beer garden area just for our group, along with one pickleball court set aside for us. Our table will also be available for the public to learn more about our community and help spread awareness.

We’d love for you to connect with other T1Ds and families in South Central Texas at this relaxed, come-as-you-are meetup. All attendees are kindly responsible for their own food and drinks during the event.

Christine Fisher joins Breakthrough T1D in 2025 as the Community Engagement Manager for the Southern Texas Chapter. Originally from western Iowa, Christine was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes at 11 years old and became active with the Omaha, Nebraska JDRF chapter. Christine moved to San Antonio during graduate school to be closer to her grandparents and quickly fell in love with the community.

Christine holds a master’s degree in Child Life and has dedicated her career to supporting children and families through advocacy, education, and connection. She’s passionate about diabetes awareness and has run the New York City Marathon with the Beyond Type One charity team. In her free time, Christine loves playing pickleball, cheering on Baylor football, hosting game nights, and enjoying an iced coffee. She’s also deeply committed to supporting children in the foster care system and is excited to bring her energy and heart for service to Breakthrough T1D.
