Paige L. Freeman, Ph.D, PLLC If you are experiencing a mental health emergency please call 800-273-8255. Welcome! I would love to walk with you on your journey. We will be a team. A lot.

My blog and page are not intended as therapy, medical advice or diagnosis and should in no way replace consultation with a medical or mental health professional. My clients (individuals (14+), families and groups) typically struggle with anxiety and/or life stressors. They may or may not be going through life changes or developmental transitions. More specifically, I can also help with parenting, adjustment to COVID-19 related issues, food allergy anxiety, men's and women's issues and more. Anxiety in general can be paralyzing, and typically at the very least it gets in between you and your goals and values. My Background
I received my B.S. in Psychology from the University of Arizona, my M.S in Family Studies from the University of Kentucky and my Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from the University of Oklahoma. I completed my Doctoral Internship at the Michael E. DeBakey VA Medical Center in Houston, Texas. I am an advisor to the Food Allergy Counselor, Inc. I am affiliated with the American Psychological Association, Houston Psychological Association, ACBS (Association for Contextual Behavioral Science), ACBS Southeast Texas Chapter, Texas Chapter of ACBS. I am additionally a proud member of FABHA (Food Allergy Behavioral Health Association). I have been licensed in the state of Texas since 2006. In 2020 I was granted the authority to practice Interjurisdictional telepsychology (APIT) through the *PSYPACT commission. As such, I now practice telepsychology in 16 States. My Personal Beliefs and Interests
In my work with clients, I encourage transparency, value-driven decision making, humor, self-compassion, and making room for your thoughts and feelings. I am committed to meeting you where you are. We will collaboratively create a treatment plan that meets your individual goals and values. I will ask you to recognize and use your strengths, determine if your behaviors are aligned with your values, connect with your Self, and increase your psychological flexibility. You will always be treated with the utmost compassion, respect and unconditional positive regard. I'll encourage you to be transparent and flexible. You can expect the same of me. If I’m not genuine and adaptable, I can’t expect you to be either. I love to laugh. While therapy can at times be difficult and outside of your comfort zone, that does not mean that it had to be all serious, all the time. Being able to laugh at our humanness together is one of the greatest healers.

Fun chat last week with the Houston NPR/PBS affiliate about parental anxiety. My portion of the interview starts at around 8:30 minutes left in the segment.

We consider the new horror film from Zach Cregger and how it taps into very real anxieties that some parents might face.
