November 15 is America Recycles Day, a national initiative that reminds us how everyday choices make a lasting impact.

Here in the Energy Corridor District, we’re proud to champion sustainability through ongoing recycling, reuse, and waste reduction efforts.

From community events like Bayou Preservation Association Reclaim the Drain & Reuse Rendezvous to partnerships that promote responsible materials management, we’re working together to keep waste out of landfills and protect our local environment.

Thank You for Making a Difference!

On October 18, the Energy Corridor District, Houston Council Member Mary Nan Huffman, Houston District G, and the Bayou Preservation Association teamed up to host the Reclaim the Drain & Reuse Rendezvous, with volunteer support from Stratford High School service organizations, Keep Houston Beautiful, Scout Troop 505, and Houston METRO.

Community members came together at the Addicks Park & Ride to mark storm drains, collect litter, and help protect our local waterways. Together, we raised awareness about the importance of reducing pollution, preventing flooding, and keeping Houston’s bayous clean and resilient.

Thank you to everyone who participated and helped keep the Energy Corridor clean, beautiful, and thriving!

Cleaner air benefits everyone; protecting public health, supporting economic growth, and creating more livable communities.

Your input matters. Review the draft plan and share your feedback to help shape an impactful Air Quality Action Plan for the Houston-Galveston region.
