Today kicks off Men’s Health week!!!

We hear it all the time: men live shorter lives than women. One of the leading causes of death in men is cardiovascular disease, such as heart attacks and strokes.

The good news is that making small changes to your diet and lifestyle can drastically impact your life.

One of these small changes is GETTING MORE FRUITS AND VEGGIES daily.

Aim for a minimum of 3 (1 cup) servings of veggies and 2 (1 cup) servings of fruit per day.

Consistently including fruits and veggies to your daily diet adds more fiber, key vitamins and minerals, as well as powerful antioxidants.

I love the Cobb Salad at Refuel! It’s an easy way to add 2 servings of veggies to your day.

Do you ever wonder who is telling the truth about the healthiest eating patterns?

The truth is that there is no one size fits all. The healthiest pattern is the one that works best with your lifestyle, goals, and overall health, to name a few considerations.

What I point my clients to are the 5 characteristics of a healthy diet:

1️⃣ Adequacy
2️⃣ Balance
3️⃣ Moderation
4️⃣ Variety
5️⃣ Calorie Control

Are you as confused as everyone else when it comes to what food to choose for you and your family?

A survey released by the International Food Information Council Foundation showed that 80% of the population strongly agree that “there is a lot of conflicting information about what foods (they) should eat or avoid”. This in return makes consumers doubt the choices they make.

Here are some tips on how to overcome marketing madness. And when in doubt don’t hesitate to ask. I love answering peoples questions about different products or brands.
