The Role of the Surgical Assistant

Surgical assistants are far more than support in the operating room, they are essential members of the surgical team whose expertise directly contributes to safe, efficient, and successful patient care.

From the first incision to the final suture, Certified Surgical Assistants (CSAs) serve as the essential “second set of expert eyes” in the operating room, bringing precision, skill, and focus to every procedure to help ensure optimal patient outcomes.

As we launch this week of recognition, the NSAA proudly celebrates the commitment, expertise, and professionalism of our members nationwide. Whether assisting with delicate tissue handling, maintaining hemostasis, or supporting cutting-edge robotic surgery, your role is vital to the success of the surgical team.

From humble beginnings with Chad and myself in 2012, providing surgical assisting and billing services, we have expanded to a team of 65+ employees.
