We want to extend our sincere gratitude to everyone who contributed to the success of our Vietnam War Remembrance Ceremony on March 27, 2026.
The strength, dignity, and reverence displayed throughout the program reflected the deep respect we all share for those who served.
A special thank you to Ann Fowler of the Daughters of the American Revolution for both opening our ceremony with a warm and welcoming greeting, hosting and closing us out with such grace.
Thank you to Allie Ray for a powerful and moving rendition of the National Anthem, and to James Roy for delivering a heartfelt opening prayer that centered us all in reflection and gratitude.
Deep and sincere appreciation to Council Member Willie Davis, City of Houston, At-Large, Position 2 for taking the time to stand with our Veterans, recognize their sacrifices, and speak about the significance of the Vietnam War and how their service brought a level of honor that “cannot be overstated”.
The Council Member's reading and presentation of the official Vietnam War Proclamation to our home was a powerful and defining moment of the ceremony.
Equally, we are very grateful to Dr. LaShondra Jones of the City of Houston Veterans Affairs, Mayor’s Office.
We would like to also thank our guest speaker, Bob Gebhart, Navy Vietnam Veteran.
A heartfelt thank you to singer Tiffany Brown for her dual role in assisting with the commemorative pinning alongside myself and for delivering a beautiful rendition of “God Bless America.” She sung it for 7 minutes while we pinned the Veterans with Vietnam Pins.
We also extend our appreciation to singer Celeste Jefferson for her performance of “Hero,” a fitting and powerful tribute to the bravery and resilience of our Veterans.
Additionally, we thank the Office of State Representative Lelani for their support and recognition of this important occasion and all veteran service organizations and service members who were present including:
VFW Post 8790, Master Sgt Devin Ross of the National Montford Marine Association & Major Zaire O’Brien Battalion, Commander of Marine Corps Recruiting Command… Reginald Parker of Veterans Faith Initiative and Tim Mccleland of the Metro Police Department
