We are your local ANNA chapter, whose members are generally from Metro Houston and surrounding gulf coast areas. ANNA accepts membership from any registered nurse licensed in the United States, Canada, or Mexico who is interested in the care of nephrology patients. Other practitioners who are working with or are interested in the care of nephrology patients are also welcome to become members. This includes Technicians, Dietitians, Social Workers, Physicians, and Students. Associate members have all the privileges of active membership, except voting or holding office.

Dear ANNA Gulf Coast #204 Members,

We had a wonderful time learning from Dr. Dana Mitchell about how KRYSTEXXA can change the course of uncontrolled gout. Dr. Mitchell’s insights into patient selection, treatment expectations, and long‑term disease management were incredibly valuable and thought‑provoking. We would also like to extend our heartfelt thanks to our gracious host, Ali Witherspoon from Amgen, for organizing such a tremendous evening and creating a welcoming environment for learning and discussion.

We hope you enjoyed participating in the holiday games, taking a moment to relax, and connecting with other members of our community. Dear ANNA Gulf Coast #204 Members,
We would like to extend our sincere appreciation to everyone who joined us for the special session in the Renal Roundtable Lecture Series, organized in collaboration with the National Kidney Foundation (NKF) and generously sponsored by Otsuka on December 11, 2025. Your participation and engagement help make these educational events meaningful and impactful for our nephrology nursing community.

We would especially like to recognize and thank our distinguished speaker, Dr. Workeneh, MD, FASN, for an outstanding presentation on “Evolving the Treatment Paradigm to Earlier Intervention in IgA Nephropathy.” The insights shared on earlier identification, intervention strategies, and evolving treatment options provided valuable, practical knowledge that we can carry back to our dialysis patients and practice settings.

Dear ANNA Gulf Coast Chapter #204 Members,

Thank you to everyone who came out to support the Beacon on November 29, 2025. Your dedication and hard work in the kitchen—whether you were prepping ingredients, cooking meals, washing dishes, or serving food—truly made a difference. Because of your generosity and compassion, we were able to provide warm meals and a sense of community to those who needed it most. Seeing so many people volunteer their time, and effort was incredibly inspiring and made the event a tremendous success. We are deeply grateful for your involvement, and we hope you found the experience as rewarding as we did. Together, we showed what can be achieved when a community comes together for a good cause.

We are excited to extend an invitation to all our members for a special session in the Renal Roundtable Lecture Series, organized in partnership with the National Kidney Foundation (NKF) and graciously sponsored by Otsuka. This educational event aims to foster knowledge-sharing, professional growth, and the latest updates in nephrology.

Dear ANNA Gulf Coast #204 Members,

We had an awesome time connecting and learning about the topic, “Change starts with Zepbound” by Dr. Aryana Amini. Her expertise made the session both educational and inspiring, encouraging everyone to think about the ways we can proactively embrace and lead change.
We would like to thank our sponsor Lilly Medicine and our host Jessica Soeder for coordinating the event. Discussion was held and many questions were answered.

To add to the excitement, we celebrated the start of the holiday season with a variety of games and interactive activities. These moments brought lots of laughter, fostered new connections, and helped set a joyful tone. We look forward to more opportunities to come together, learn, and grow as a community. Dear ANNA Gulf Coast #204 Members,
Thank you to everyone who attended ANNA Connection: Nurses Night Out at Kidney Week with ASN on November 6, 2025. Your presence made the evening truly special, and we hope you enjoyed the opportunity to relax and reconnect with ANNA colleagues and friends. It was wonderful to see so many of you come together, share laughter, and build lasting connections within our nephrology nursing community.

We especially appreciated the chance to spend time with the esteemed National Chapter leaders: Nancy Colobong Smith, Faith Lynch, Molly Cahill, Jami Brown, Jennifer Vavrinchik, Beth Ulrich, and Deborah Brouwer-Maier. Their insights and camaraderie contributed to the evening's welcoming, supportive atmosphere. If we missed anyone’s name on this list, please accept our sincerest apologies.
